in 09' comair was running pretty thin on reserves. do you think that they are looking to keep and recall pilots because of the new duty limits that are being put through?

Possible, they stopped scheduling reduced rest a couple months ago. So it shows they may be looking ahead (that is a strong maybe).

Delta is finalizing our flight schedule for early 2010, and we are planning our crew staffing accordingly. I’m pleased to let you know that initial indications are that we will need to ramp up our staffing slightly to

cover additional flying opportunities from Delta.

We will retain 32 pilots who had originally been scheduled to go on furlough as of January 1, 2010. In addition, we plan to recall 23 pilots and 42 flight attendants currently out on furlough. This increased utilization and opportunity for additional flying is positive news for our company and for our crews.
During his recent Focus 2009 meetings, President John Bendoraitis provided insight into the 2010 schedule and discussed a reduction in hours year over year from 2009 to 2010. While we still expect a reduction,
based on the latest 2010 schedule changes, we expect block hours to remain fairly consistent throughout the year and comparable to today’s levels. We are optimistic about what that means for our crew staffing
levels.

"Retaining 32 furlough" - So pretty much they are only bringing back 23 from the furlough list.. ?!? At least it is a start...

Hey, it is raining $5 bills - damnit, what I pain. Why can't it be $100 bills? This is too much work to have to pick these all up one at a time. Whine whine whine.

OK, just my way of asking why we have to complain about everything, even what is a little bit of good news?

preach it my friend. we could have an announcement that said we are replacing all the RJ's with 757 and a 90 percent pay raise and more than half the users on this forum would b!tch about it not being 767's and a 91% pay raise.

be thankful for some/any good news at this place. we should take anything we can get at the moment. (eventhough, more than half of you will probably find a negative outlook on this positive news.)

Hello everyone. Hey I know this has been beaten to bare feet, but I jumpseated in on Comair yesterday, and was told to update my stuff at airline apps. I fellow pilot told me that Comair is about to ramp up hiring again due to the fact of sooooooo many pilots leaving, even with lower mins they can't get enough to replace the attrition. I also heard once they restart, mins are going to go to Comm. Inst. ME.

Any truth to the rumor ?? What have you heard?

Thanks.

Infinite until everyone junior to you has received a recall notice...or five years, whichever comes first.

But if they were to recall more, say in 3 months, they would again approach the voluntaries and ask if they wanted to come back?

In other words, you'll get a choice of whether or not to accept a recall every time it's offered to the invols?
