On Autopilot, I hope you are not going to wait for Comair to call you.

i got a quick question for you guys. does alpa have any preferential hiring agreements in place for your furloughed pilots or is there any unofficial thing like that going on? i had never heard of that happening until someone said something to me about it today. that and the comment by flycrj200 about going to colgan, whether he meant it or was joking, got me thinking about it too.

The MEC is apparently working on trying to get a "preferential hiring" agreement with American Eagle and Colgan. They have done it in the past when Mesaba and Compass were hiring. As far as Colgan, all I'm going to say is do your research, talk to former and current pilots and make an informed decision.

No, I'm not. What Delta is doing to Comair........

I'm actively looking at other prospects. I would have liked to have had the chance to fly for Comair. So now I'm looking toward Texas way.

I hope they work something out for the comair guys that got furloughed, my brother is one of them. Although he has already told me he can't afford colgan what with his new baby and all. If I do end up interviewing alongside comair guys I honestly hope they get the job before I do. I mean that. And I am still doing my research on colgan, trying to get all viewpoints, have talked to current employee, etc. Still on the fence. Thank you for the insight.

Did you try Eagle or Colgan?

I had often wondered what the life of a genie in a bottle might be like in the downtime. After a year of furlough, no magical powers, and resting on not nearly as many pillows as I had imagined (although no stained hotel pillows with the "sweet dreams" stitching), mystery solved. Let's hope JB gives the lamp a rub in 2010 for all us furloughees.
