Comair updates?
nothing official yet... they only have one official reply back so far in the mail because of the holiday weekend (was a voluntary furlough bypassing)
they seem to think that another round seems likely, and they cited that when they were short 5 pilots they ended up sending another 14 letters...
completely unofficially... but since they are trying to get 72 minimum recalls out of 100 letters, i guarantee a second wave of recalls... so if you're close to the cutoff line expect a phonecall in the next couple weeks... all you need is for more than 13 of the 85ish nonvoluntary furloughs to resign for them to start round 2... given the 30ish percent rejection rate they said on the phone (i think the number they used was 31.8) they will probably end up at least 12-13 pilots short, which would probably provoke a second round of recalls in the 20-25 range minimum... so if you're in the top 125 on the list, you're comming back for one of those class dates...

Point? They won't know how many are coming back until the 8/1 class starts. Those letters are pretty worthless in terms of an accurate count of whose really coming back.

That's the problem with trailboozer, he is too coward to give a source. But if you or I were to start a rumor he would jump all over us for not having factual information from a reliable source. He is just a hypocrite who gets his jollies off spreading BS.
Anybody not coming back, would most likely accept recall, pick the latest class date (Aug. 1) and then resign on the 31st of July. I can't imagine anyone resigning their number one day earlier than what's required. A lot can happen in two months and abandoning one's backup plan prematurely is none too smart an idea.

Like I said before. I am for a bypass option. However it clearly isn't going to happen. Not right now. And YES people waiting on a pipe dream bypass amendment do affect me. I have another class date for a new job on June 8th and need to know what the outlook looks like for my recall as soon as I can. If people wait 10 days from today I'm screwed. It's just my opinion. I don't expect anyone to do anything but whats best for their situation.
Well first off, congrats on the job, I assume its Colgan because your profile state saab fo. But can I ask a question, what is wrong with showing to class then quitting if you get recall? I know you will burn bridges and all, but it's Colgan. Comair has better work rules then them. The only plus I see is that you will upgrade faster at Colgan. But it's your call not mine. Congrats.

I beg to differ here. Only failures show up on your PRIA records. Better yet, if there's a checkride involved, then results show. Quiting during training (before a checkride) should not be a problem.
The more I think about it the more I believe that anyone who is planning on resigning will simply choose the August 1 class. Then management will be in a pinch again and send out some letters as fast as they can, asking people to come early...

since when is management not in a pinch? they've always been on their heels, and the only thing keeping them from falling over is the pole stuck up their @ss
speaking of management... this whole "employee recognition week" they had is a bunch of laughs, how about instead of blowing money on them, how about giving all those gifts and tickets to all the pilots and FA's you kicked to the street? we're the employees that deserve the most recognition...
