Until then, all this grousing about who or who isn't picking up (or being JM'ed for) open time is accomplishing nothing. Wait a minute, it does accomplish something: it gives people a scapegoat they can take out their anger on.

One other thing I would also mention is that we were understaffed before furloughs, we are understaffed now, and we will be understaffed when they all come back. Capisci?
What does sec.6 have to do with it? The union can't condone an illegal job action. (ref; PATCO strike, AA pilot sick-out).

BTW...being involuntarily jm'd is not the same as volunteering to help the company with their staffing problem.

So, would you be okay with 95+ hour lines and more furloughs?

I dunno'....maybe I'm wrong... if enough of you view this as a non-issue, I'll just have to add it to the long list of "Things I don't get"...(right below, "enough oral")

Illegal? According to who? The union stopped EF back in '95 or '96 and got necessary MOU's to the contract.

Among other things that you or I may not get: people with HUGE amounts of accrued vacation and/or sick leave. Just think of how many furloughees could be brought back if people just took vacation. Check out the list - it's on Epic.

Don't get me wrong, I am not necessarily condoning the picking up of EF. I just think that if we are going to have a strategy of not picking up EF, it needs to be 100% or it's just a symbolic exercise.

Reminds me of a few years ago people were just as angry (probably more so) that people were paying for training at various airlines. A lot of those people that paid for training are at the legacy carriers now, senior to those that didn't pay. But I digress.

Before anyone gets sore at me for defending those that pick up EF, I am only an interested outside party. I have been on ML for the past 2+ years. I have also been wrong before, so if you feel the need to point out how I am wrong again, feel free. It's what the internet is all about, isn't it?

On another note - Lets just say Sky West does end up acquiring the big OH. . . Would they integrate our list with theirs or would we run as Comair just as ASA runs under their name?! Also if the furloughs are not brought back by then.. are we SOL?

P.S. .... TIM IS ALPA! I miss that guy... (<---Sarcasm Boomer)

sorry but at the risk of sounding like spoilers....read the contract. No we will not be S.O.L.

I think the reason SkyWest Inc. is combining ASA/XJT is they don't want to deal with the Union headaches, with SkyWest Airlines being non-union. They would probably do the same IF they would buy us.

fine by me. ASA pays better and i dont think they could be any worse to deal with than Comair mgmt.
