your information is half correct. The new DCA flying is not going to Comair, but will be done by Compass except for DCA-MIA and DCA-TPA will be done by mainline Delta.

Delta Cargo offers employee discounts for shipping pets

Delta Cargo is offering employees a discount for their pets traveling as cargo within the U.S.
A 20% discount now applies for dogs or cats that are shipped as cargo within the US. The discount is for shipping an employee’s personal pets only. Employees are eligible for the discount if they have at least one year of service with Delta, Comair, Compass or Mesaba.
The discount applies to pets traveling as cargo without the employee accompanying the pet. Pets traveling as checked luggage with the nonrevenue traveler will continue to be charged the full pet fee.
Fees are waived for pets traveling as carry-on luggage.
Shipments of pets and other animals depend on weather conditions where temperatures are not too hot or too cold.
last time i traveled with a dog was in 2008 and i had to pay $150 ($75 each way) The dog was in a carry on tote, so i guess now it would have been free. Of course i than had the dog listed as a service animal and under the ADA act he travels free now anyway. You do need to have an airline approved carrier either way you send the dog though. If the dog is small enough and your traveling with it i can recommend the one i bought. The article from DLNet that bob posted is good you should call DL reservation and ask what the pet charge is since it seems like your situation might be different than mine.

Trailblazer isn't any more negative than some of the guys I fly with. Post away, I say. It's all just talk until the airplanes leave the fleet. That said, it's always a good idea to act like your job will end soon. If you can find a better job - take it! If not, full pay till the last day, and my savings will last a lot longer on unemployment than without it. We've been at imminent risk of being dismantled, shut down, sold, whatever for 5 years now.

In happier news, it's good to see some familiar faces back in Ops after a long time away. Welcome back!

Trailblazer is annoying and incendiary. I don't care if other pilots you fly with are negative too. I would tell them to shut up and that I have heard enough negativity.

I would and I did. One situation comes to mind.

So just because other people are negative doesn't mean we need that attitude around here.

Has anyone heard anything from MP recently? Ive sent him an email or 2 as of late but haven't heard back. Suppose he must be busy being back in training.

Imagine tomorrow we wake up and hear news on Mesa, transtate, expressjet and comair being bought. I would laugh if Mesa buys us because that means delta can't get rid of them. Before someone writes something like Mesa is a bankrupt company I wrote that as a joke. Well goodnight folks lets see what tomorrow brings.

I talked to him yesterday. He told me everybody showed up. I think something might be up or he's really busy.

Now there is how you fix a staffing problem. If Comair was bought by Mesa can you imagine how many people would leave. Bought by Mesa right before a contract negotiation. I'm sorry, I know... I should wash my mouth out with Alcohol. Or maybe I already did.

The word i got was SKW bought Mesa...shareholders meeting tomorrow morning with announcement to follow sometime later. Opening a PHX and CLT base sometime. Again nothing is true until it happens and even then who knows. Gotta get a hold of all those 900`s i guess.
