I wish I was smart enough to put a specific time on my resignation letter. They tried to extend me on my last day that would have prevented me from getting on the last flight home. I just told them that they would have to find someone else because I was getting on that flight and going home. The lady in scheduling said, "so are you calling in sick for that last out and back?" I said, "if that's what you want to do that's fine with me, I'm just telling you that I won't be there for that last out and back so do whatever you have to do."

You'd think those tools in management/scheduling would learn by now.
.....I just "happened" to be sick on my last day and had to use FMLA, they punished me by putting an SD on my line

I sincerely feel for all of you still stuck and trying to get out.

The day after being unceremoniously escorted from ops by some toolbag intern they called me for a trip. No idea why/how how it could possibly happen (you'd think the system worked better than that), but when the fool from crew scheduling called it took no thought or hesitation to respond, "I'll be there in 90 minutes." :O

This one takes the cake.

4 months after I quit, I was deleting Emaestro from my computer favorites. So, I decided to try to log back in one more time. Low and behold, my # and password still worked, I couldn't check my schedule or anything until I acknowleged the emails from scheduling. So, I check the messages....."EF for the month of XXX".

What did I do you ask? Of course, I sign up for extra flying!

Fast forward several days.
I'm on a 24 hour overnight in the caribbean and my phone rings, the # is from OH scheduling. I don't answer it but, successfully log back in to Emaestro and see they have assigned me a taxi in DTW and a 4 day trip a few days later!! What the f...?

TRUE STORY.

F'ing morons!!

I would expect the same respect that was given to ABX when they started flying the same TWA 767s that are now coming to Atlas. I will start apologizing for "taking" someone else's flying when I am part of an airline management team that is responsible for losing the flying. With that said, I sympathize with the ABX pilots as I was in the same boat as they are in while working at the ever-shrinking Comair.

Not saying Atlas stole the saying but..............

Back in 1993 I was a newly checked out in the right seat of the 767 at TWA. Some of the Captains I flew with were displaced off the 747. "Dispatch has us landing with 11,000 lbs???? *******ing light twins!"

ABX purchased those a/c from TWA. They didn't steal them. ABX put in a lower cost bid to DHL to fly those 767s, but DHL awarded them to Atlas to continue the DHL whipsaw.

I can sympathize - Comair is on its way from 176 aircraft to 44.

You missed my point completely. As a pilot, how much control did you have over what your company buys, sells, loses, or gains? None! Despite the best attempt of any management group to persuade us, pilots are not the reason for a airline's success or failure. It is the talent, or lack there of, from management that determines the outcome of a company. I flew aircraft at Comair and Atlas, one company is a failure and one is a success. In each case, these companies are the way they are because of management.......F.U. Delta, oh and while were at it F.U. DHL!
