I got a Citation type from the WIA in Michigan back in 09 when I was furloughed. It was a fairly easy process back then through the "Michigan Works" program but I have heard since then, the funding for the program has been lost.

Several over at TSA. All those hired in December and January are looking at upgrading pretty soon. New CP in Dulles and Director of Training are all ex OH guys. Glad to see them here as KS has improved the atmosphere at TSA a lot since coming onboard.

I did the WIA through my county in my home state. It was about 2 months worth of hoop-jumping through the system: taking their tests, filling out job reports, attending a few of their clueless classes, then finally getting the goods! Several people have gotten WIA funding from the KY office, even though they live out of state. Evidently, the KY office got a sizable grant to distribute to such programs.

WIA is good for $7k. The Aerostar A-320 Level-C course is $7900, so you just have to pony-up some extra $$ to git-r-done. I wish we had the DHL deal; those guys got around $40k/each for new type ratings, housing, books, etc. Several of them are getting both 737NG & A-320 Type Ratings each. I'm happy for them...it's a really good deal! We, on the other hand, have to start paying yield fare

Thanks for the info. Doubt I qualify for it now. But it's ok. Gotten 4 types in last year for free thanks to a little gig that fell on my lap. Unf, none are "big" airplanes, but at least keeps some income my way.

Still a sad sight to see CVG be like a ghost-town. Anyone hear whether anyone is going to start operating there? I know Southern Air is opening there and last I heard Southwest was looking at it, but I haven't heard any other rumors. Such a shame to see the airport completely wasted.
Allegiant is going to be coming to CVG soon, but I didn't catch the start date. I'm assuming Southern Air is now here, as the road sign to the south side has their name on it.

I drive past the airport nearly every day. It still angers me to see the same jets I flew, in the same colors, at the gates and flying over my house. There was no need for what happened.

26 years there, after the close I took an early retirement. Wasn't planning on that, but we will make it work out somehow.

For what it's worth, I went over to ExpressJet (ASA side) in July, and I was welcomed with open arms. Lots of former Comair people there, and the company treats us like humans instead of machines. Case in point: I had an unscheduled 4 hour and 56 minute sit in Bloomington, IL on Saturday, so I called scheduling to ask about a hotel room. Their response? "Of course you get a hotel room, get on over there and relax for a few hours and watch some football..."

The reserve rules are not great, but they treat reserves the way they are supposed to be used.

Either way, we're baaaaack... Just like a poltergeist or, gonorrhea.

I'll get Joe Rogan, YEAH Joe Rogan, to make you laugh, then and only then, he'll kick yur *** if you say otherwise. huh?

Don't laugh, it's all just about to go down, and u, yes u,....heard it here first.

Another example of why you shouldn't drink and post.
