Mesa actually has flight attendants . I thought they would have the pilots do the job of the F/A to save some money and make Mesa more competitive price wise than any regional in the industry. Not bashing, just kidding.

When is this "ramping up" of pilots supposed to take place?

Holy cow, I haven't looked at this thread for over a week, since my lovely POS laptop crashed. It took me almost an hour to catch up on all the BS posted on here

I was on Freedom just recently (145) and after a very rough, skidding back and forth across the runway, with an attempt at locking up the brakes, type landing the FA told me that, that was the FO's best landing of the whole trip. She asked me if that sort of thing was normal because after four months on the job she was starting to feel, "not so safe." Seriously, I tried to reassure her as best as I could and still stay honest. Poor girl. I wish her luck with getting on with JetBlue.

So what's this about we are not allowed to use the flight director on takeoff anymore? Are the rotation rates that bad?

Is Comair saying that now? Thanks to a couple yahoo's, CRJ operators now have to make sure that we don't over-rotate on takeoff. What a joke.

Where did you hear this? I am just curious because I have not heard a thing about it.

Rev 37 (on the 50) to the flight standards manual, just got it, about two days ago. They included a sheet with the summary of the changes.

Knowing Mesa they'd get a captain to do it...they already have two captains up front half the time...why not another in the back?

I guess comair doesn't want us to takeoff with the flight director anymore. So the RWY update is done through the FMS and you fly raw data to 600' then everything else is normal.

That's the gist of it.

Is this just a 50 thing because I have not recieved a revision on anything yet. If that is the case it seems a little odd considering you have a much better chance of hitting the tail if you over rotate on the 70/90.
