Default New hires?

I was thinking about interviewing with Comair in May. Just got an e-mail to update my resume/application. I live in Indianapolis so I think I would like to be based in CVG versus JFK. Website states that they are hiring into both. Can someone tell me if it is realistic to get based in CVG out of training and how long can you expect to sit reserve before holding a line.

Also, are there available crash pads in the CVG area, about how much can I expect to pay, and are they nasty or livable?

SPD,

I live in Indy as well and I am based in CVG. It is nice to be able to drive if you have to. I would say it is very realistic to be based out of CVG after training. Last summer everyone was going to JFK, but I think the tides have turned and you can get your pick. I was at the company 12 months (9 months out on the line) before I held a line. That seems to be true for both bases.
As far as crashpads, there are plenty available in CVG. They all seem to be very nice, as many are in relatively new houses. Expect to pay 200-300 dollars a month. When/if you report for training, you will see advertisements around the company buildings for crashpads, so don't worry about trying to track one down.
Hope this helps and good luck! Comair isn't as bad as some make it out to be, so come into everthing with an open-mind and see what works for YOU, not those that post on this board.

I have a lot of friends who got that email with interview dates as well as job fairs.... is that what they use now as the formal invite to interview? It says for YOU to email [email protected] where before THEY emailed us.............?

I agree with everything ComairFO said. Good luck on your interview.

Yes, highspeed overnight. You take the last flight out and first flight back in the next morning. Your technically on duty all night long. In JFK they are very senior for Captains and its a mixture of senior/junior for FO's. I think most FO's in JFK do it instead of reserve, while the rest of the lineholders would rather fly a regular line for money/flight time reasons.

I myself LOVE highspeeds. I live in NY, and I'm home all day long to take care of whatever I need to do. I just would prefer to get as much turbine time as I can (just a little CYA for myself). If your a commuter, Comair provides a hotel in JFK during the daytime, so you won't need a crashpad as long as you hold a CD line. It's great for commuting to/from home as well, as you can take an afternoon flight in to JFK and still meet the report time, and on day 3 you can take the first flight out of JFK and be home by noon.

Unhappy ASAP Form

Does anyone know if Comair has an electronic ASAP form on epic? I forgot to grab one before I left for home and I need one.....I think...

Captian filled one out so I probably should as well.

If Comair doesn't keep a copy electronically, does anyone know of a website I can download to fill out?

I'm home now. Does anyone know of a generic web-site that I can fill in the information and send it to the 800#?
