What I hate is seeing someone on the couch snoring away like they are cutting a years worth of firewood. FO's FA's and CAPPYS need to get a crashpad unless they are sitting ready they should not be sleeping there. It is NOT Camp livingroom or Hotel JFK. If I made it through a year as an JFK FO and paid for a crash pad, anyone can!!
OK now while I am on a rant, ALL OF YOU FO's! PICK UP YOUR TRASH WHEN YOU LEAVE THE FLIGHT DECK! YOUR MOMMA DOESN'T CLEAN UP AFTER YOU HERE!!
IF THE SEAT NEEDS A NEW CUSHION, DO NOT STUFF IT WITH BLANKETS! WRITE IT UP!!
IF YOU FLY THE 70/90, DO NOT LEAVE 70 MANIFESTS IN THE 90, AND LEAVE 90 MANIFESTS IN THE 70!
OK I'M DONE

I for one am looking forward to the day I upgrade and live in Kennedy Ops! I'm going to buy a really nice sleeping bag (you know, the arctic mt everest ones) and I'll zip it up tight to keep the mice out
Beyond that there's an ironing board in there, and the bathroom next door. I'll send the $250 i'd be spending on the crashpad into principle on my house.

I lived in ops for 2 months when I was Kennedy based. Some of us don't live close enough to drive and on 1st year pay, I could barely afford one place to live in addition to a crashpad located in a bad neighborhood. I would hesitate to criticize someone until you've walked a mile in their shoes, things aren't always as they appear.

I only got the couches on slow nights! Or when my trips ended before 4pm and I could snag one before the FAs got there. Every other night I utilized the tables or chairs, which have multiplied since I was based there! I'm surprised someone hasn't thought to turn the storage racks into bunkbeds......

I'm with aviator on this one. With gas prices, food prices, and loan payments even just 20 a month is sometimes hard to come by. And I know I'm not that educated on the subject but I just don't know what the union will be able to do to really protect us in this merger. We're just an after thought.
You guys would be Biitching if we merged with Compass/Mesaba and got shafted with seniority because our MEC didn't do anything because there was no money in the coffers. You can't have it both ways.

You guys are obviously misinformed on what ALPA does at the local MEC council level. While your assumption is correct that ALPA has no control over the business aspect of the company, they can attempt to steer our destiny during a merger, say, with Compass and Mesaba, and attempt to get us as much seniority and seat/base protection as possible. No one forced you to come work here at Comair or to get into the aviation industry. You knew what you were getting yourself into before you did it (hopefully), and now it is time to suck it up and protect your future as much as possible. $20 is a cheap insurance policy and money well spent. I am on 3rd year pay now and am not that much better off, but I am willing to give $20 a check for our seniority.

Are we going to get billed once a month or is this a one time deal?
