I found this info in the Comair ALPA Board. I think it's some what positive. Time to watch Lost.
In no particular order here is a summary of some of the talking points SB discussed during his briefing in my RG class (along with SM in some instances)...
OH asking DAL for additional space in JFK for crews to hang out in
Intermix of 3A1 & 3B1 engines coming soon to the 50
8/1 china svc coming to the 90 dictating multiple galley configurations which will be reflected in the pax count form
Fixed ballast in 50 coming to combat index problems; in-house fix that OH may be able to market the STC for additional revenue
FMS database may be replaced by a Lufthansa product to save 20% in cost (no difference to crew oper. proc.)
Evaluating two providers to replace pairing construction software (warned this will probably not improve trip construction, just replacing ancient software currently used)
C300 ops spec to deactivate ADF receiver to save $1 mil per year
Mentioned some scenarios were tested to evaluate future crew bases. Essentially revealed that CVG would become nonexistent as a domicile
Checklist redesign forthcoming along with review of contingency fuel procedures
More migration to NE resulting in further cost savings which ultimately result in our retaining our flying but not getting more
Compass/Mesaba/NWA employees very happy with changes to pass benefits. SB felt that nothing would change in this department
Talk of a co-domicile in LGA/JFK. OH looking at free transportation options to shuttle crews between the two
Electronic flight bag - so far away in the future don't even bother to ask
ACARS...costs 7 cents a transaction. Cost would have come out of the capitol spending budget (it was the highest cost item) and actually made it through a multi-stage review but was ultimately axed by Richard Anderson himself as being too costly
Attaboys...we are operating safely; decrease in pilot on pilot issues and pilot on station issues; you are safe; did I mention you are safe?
"We are just trying to save jobs" - our biggest single focus.
We are not on DAL's radar in the wake of the NWA merger but SB believes we have a long-term mission with DAL
JB. doing EVERYTHING he can to see the pull down in fall block hours come from somebody other than Comair
OH does not foresee a meltdown in operations with the shift of flying to JFK in terms of crewmembers commuting to work
"You've got a job" - not feeling too bad about Comair's future
Mesaba was offered the opportunity to come up with a plan for flying in the N.E. but was unable to come up with a solution thereby solidifying our position as the go-to carrier in that region
One pending lawsuit in the 5191 crash
SB asks all his leaders to fly at least 3 days a month and it is a part of their performance review
And the best news...SB has told his CP's to be out in the concourses on Friday distributing subs to flight crew!!!

LOL! If SB really said all these things then I know it's 100% BS.
If I would have listened to all the things he said in the past, I'd still have a job and flying CRJ700s as United Express with electronic flight bags out of ORD.

If they close cvg does that means that they have to move the training center or GO?
But to me it seems that maybe just maybe comair hit the bottom and can only go up from here.
Interesting at Mesaba we were told that we turned down the flying in JFK because we didn't want the awful performance numbers that would come with it. I'm guessing the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
