I hear ya, ive applied to all my home town flight schools. All of which showed me the stack of resumes they had laying around. Then I went for some good paying jobs outside of aviation. All of which told me I had no experience and there are hundreds of better applicants out there. Now im seriously looking at a burger flipping job or a pizza driver gig. I was actually told by a company that they would not hire me because I was over qualified. I wish I could just find a job in what im qualified for! flying

The SOCC has a pool going for what date and time we'll go over our monthly target of 152 cancellations as this is our first month of increased Northeast flying. We're well on our way!

Too all furloughed guys. I feel for you guys, I really do. However I have been noticing that your support amongst the pilot is diminishing. It's not that your fellow pilot don't want you to come back, because they do. The problem is that the situation continues to get worse and now they(the pilot group) really needs to pay attention to keeping things together for those on property now. It sucks, but I think it's become reality. When it comes to open time you will still see guys try to pick it up. In the beginning it was beneficial to not pick it up so the company might see some staffing problems. But now the situation is getting to the point were each guy is fending for themselves. The current pilot group is now finding itself in a situation where they have to fight for the guys that are left on property. If they keep fighting to bring back furloughed guys lot's of stuff is going to be overlooked and more jobs will likely be lost as management finds a week spot.

Again, I don't agree with this, but this is what I have been noticing. Good luck to you guys!

Just selfish.

Trust me, I have bills to pay too and would want nothing more than an extra $200 from some extra flying, but a line must be drawn and we must stand firm. We are a stronger group if we act as one and set aside a few personal goals.

People complain about the weakness of the ALPA leadership. Well I worry about the integrity of its membership.

You're exactly right. From what I am seeing, the unity is being broken up and everyone is out for themselves now. Look at how many people are voting on union leadership. Some 40 something votes out of how many pilots. The Union can't even get volunteers right now.
