I've been hearing a rumor around the SOCC that a bunch of Comair pilots/employees complained to RA himself about the new nonrev bennies and RA told Bendo to keep his people in check.

If this is true, it makes me laugh. Everything I ever thought about RA....justified.

On a side note, did anybody else read the ALPA email today? They make it sound as though a recall is probable.

All the ALPA message mentioned was that the MEC proposed recalling furloughed pilots to help staffing in which they saw an issue arising from inappropiate staffing levels. Management did not act on this.

Why do people still think they are gonna recall? They don't care if the completion gets down to 80% it gives them a reason to park more planes and say comair sucks. Somebody gets off on this stuff. Things won't get better till the pilot group comes together and stops thinking about themselves. I just went through Add/Drop just for FOs and there were 10 people that either picked up open time or tried for May. Most tried a few times also.

I don't want recalls because I don't wanna go back. I would make more money sadly going back but I don't want to.

I appreciate the fact that you do not want to go back to Comair. But not wanting a recall that affects 297 other pilots because you don’t feel like working is very selfish. I hope I misunderstood what you are intending to say.

Huh? I'm selfish because I don't feel like working? I work 2 jobs now to pay the bills and have moved 4 times since my furlough. I am just saying comair blows and I don't want to be faced with a recall because I will sadly go back and bend over.

I hate to say this, but I expect more furloughs before recalls if the block hours come down again this fall.

I agree, Comair is going to ride this short staffing out till they furlough in fall. I hope not but look at it this way, if they see they can make it with the staffing levels with x amount of hours in summer and get a thousand or so taken away in fall it will justify them furloughing to get that low staffing level again.

Its pointless. honestly if you were to get a recall call next week, wait out your 17 days to return, attend ground and sims, recheck, and then fly with a check airmen... you wouldn't even be line ready till what? mid to end of june? So you'll enjoy a whole 22 days off all summer (IF you can even get home-commuters) and spend the rest of your time living in a fine JFK crashpad only to be furloughed in the fall. I think I rather sit on the boat all summer and drink beer... but to each his own I suppose.

I rather do that; I'll make and save some money. I expect to fly a lot on reserve because of all the commuters. Plus I live 20 mins from jfk so I do not need to worry about commuting. And the big plus, if I get furlough again in the fall, I would have reset my unemployment benefits to get the full 59 weeks of unemployment check.

Just thinking outside the box.
