Then you'll probably see a revision soon. Either that or they decided you guys don't need to be baby-sat.

The 70/90 will still use the FD on takeoff because it has the enhanced FD which changes the initial pitch based on the difference between Vr and V2. I guess when Comair first got the CRJ you couldn't use the FD for takeoff.

Another terrible idea. That is a huge safety advantage when there is an engine out at rotation or v1. What are people doing, yanking it off the runway? They are still going to do the same thing without the FD.

I think the flight director during takeoff issue has a similarity to the stab trim disconnect in its inception. Both issues arose from problems that occurred in non-Comair CRJs. According to Flight Standards, there have been problems with over-rotation and even at least one case resulting in an accident.

While I agree the FDs are a great reference for an engine out situation, what is wrong with just being a pilot and maintaining V2 until 1000'?

Im not saying not to be a pilot. Im saying that in an emergency situation every tool at your disposal is an advantage.

Are these freedom 90's or brand new ones?

and how many?

and is it still going to be a 1 for 1 swap with 50's?

I was told from the factory. Delta is exercising it's option on the remaining ten -900s. It will be a one for one swap as ususal. I also heard DCI is ready to pull the trigger on Freedom's -900's as soon as they hear Mesa even utter the word banckruptcy. They've got five so far and still have 9 remaining to be delivered.
