They are "temporarily" operating them until their deliveries come online in 2009 according to Pinnacles CEO. What does that mean? They might be up for grabs again next year. Maybe delta does move them to comair but next time for a 1 to 1 swap with the 50's.
Or Pinnacle management uses them as a bargaining tool to get those guys to sign a bad contract.
Don't forget their are 7 "freedom" 900 deliveries scheduled for next year as well with no home yet. Call me crazy but I just dont believe comair is done yet. If we do get any more 900's from anywhere I fully expect it to be a 1 to 1 swap for the 50's though.

So how long until ALPA grieves the side letter violation with 7 planes being awarded to Pinnacle? Comair gets 30% of unawarded (as of March 2007) jet aircraft, and Delta put it in writing.
As this is a new award, Comair should be getting 3 of them.
Shame on our MEC and shame on the Vage if they just roll over on this one.

I talked to a rep, i guess they had a meeting and this was not how things where suppose to go down. I was told that we need to email the union and let them know how much was taken out and the company will be sending us out a live check for that amount. The check must be sent out within 3 days after the 1st.
1. I am scheduled to be furloughed Nov 5. I called an union rep this evening and he did not say we needed to email this information to the union to receive our money. He said they were working with the company to figure this out.
2. I would almost be willing to take their piddly check (if it is decided that the company was in the wrong by doing this) and stick it back up where the sun don't shine because it does not give me a warm fuzzy knowing the company is not sending me this money in good faith. They would only be doing so as a result of being forced. Like we were supposed to laugh this one off or something. Hahaha, well I have my money now so it's okay... Bu**sh*t.
3. Why would I have to email the union with an amount so I could receive a check from the company?? Does the company not know how much they owe me? Do they get their payroll information each month from ALPA. NO!!
I am terribly heart broken right now. As I stated to the ALPA rep, it's not the money, (not that I don't have bills or anything) but it's the principle. As a young boy gazing through the airport fence I expected to, as an airline pilot, be an upstanding respected individual within my establishment as well as in society. I am the furthest from that I have ever been in my life. I don't care about recalls, or half of a CR9 we might be getting in March, I demand respect. We are the frontline of the industry. We thank the passengers as the get off the airplane after we just got them safely to Buffalo in the driving snow. Yet we continue to tolerate BS from our companies.
Regarding the furloughs, that's part of the industry. I am not beat up over it. It's just one of those things we all expect in this industry. I am more upset regarding the lack of communication and the dis-respect we receive from our employer.
If they do decide to send us our checks, it is not until some pilots who choose to rub their peckers with management, thanking them for sending us our checks, forgiving them of their cold heartedness and bla bla bla STOP, we will NEVER get that respect and will continue to be reamed, DRY.
OUCH

I understand what your are saying 100%... The rep that i talked to was Mr. Herman. He was the one in the meeting today and that was what he told me to do. I am just as upset about all this as you, i was told to send all that information so that he could keep record. It is worth giving him a call as he was the rep in the meeting today.

Anyway, whether it be from ALPA or Comair, it seems as if we are being strung along with a bunch of false information. It's just plain stupid.
As I put it to a fella I was flying with the other day. I feel as if I am in Vegas, plugging in quarters and cranking a handle. It's like this, the machine gives us enough back to keep going for a while, enough to keep plugging, but never enough to win. BUT, ya never know, that next pull might result in a jackpot so instead of getting up we keep going, afraid that the next guy that sits down here might spend a quarter and win a million. That's the mindset the company wants us to have and we have all fell victim to it.
