Okay folks, who agrees with me here
ALPA's recent email might have just pushed me over the edge. Their constant doom and gloom and paranoia towards the big bad "MANAGEMENT" (whoever that is) is doing us absolutely no good, and its wasting our time and dues. Read the latest email sent out this morning before this post.
First of all, are they promoting illegal behavior? The supposed "spy" camera, known in normal reality as a security camera, caught people doing illegal things and <gasp> they were punished! Oh no! Just what the hell is ALPA trying to say? They are against security patrols and hope people don't get caught stealing headsets out of flight bags? The paragraph starts out that all Cincinnati pilots are living some sort of nightmare. I am a Cincinnati pilot, and the only nightmare that I'm living has 4 letters, starting and ending with A.
Secondly, according to ALPA, the recent windstorm knocking out power and telephone lines was an evil plot by "MANAGEMENT" to get your phone number? Come on people. Anyone that believes that should be hit in the head with a pork belly. Some of the phones were out, and a resourceful person had the idea to use the Epic employee directory to find some alternate numbers for people in the building. This wasn't "MANAGEMENT" trying to collect personal information from the pilot group, and only the pilot group. It was a company trying to run a business with limited resources. The email from corp comm even said it wasn't affecting the SOCC, so we shouldn't have been affected by it at all.
Doesn't it bother anyone that the only thing they said about furloughes is that you'll be covered on a sub-standard federal health plan that is law. They mention nothing about furlough reduction attempts.
Rant over, fire away.

ALPA & Management both suck! I've said it before, it's nothing more than two idiots going at each other (ALPA vs. Soaper). Nothing good will come out of it. I don't even read the ALPA e-mails anymore and very rarely check my company e-mail.

Let me ask you something since you seem to take managment's side a lot....
The "Vage" is scheduled to leave here soon. Do you think the next president will make any impact? Did the "Vage"? Can you tell me one difference in our operations from DB to JS?
I haven't seen a single decision made in my short time here that leads me to believe we even have a "management" team. We have guys about to hit the street MM is running reports to see if eMasturbator is logging my "check outs".
I don't have a problem with our MEC. I find it ironic that everyone states we don't hear anything from them and then complain when you do. I do have a problem with ALPA national. They supposedly represent us but also Delta. No conflict of interest there.
And while we're at it: Delta hired Freedom due to their overall costs. Now Delta wants to get rid of them because their performance is impacting Delta's cost. So tell me management of big "D"....how much did you save?

You make a good point about people complaining about getting no info from ALPA, then complaining when they do send something.
Let me make a comparison:
Go to McDonalds in Concourse C. For a while you'll wait and wait, not getting any service. Then, when they finally do call you up, you get something that vaguely resembles anything other than a hamburger.
So, which is better? No service? Or terrible service that doesn't do anyone any good?
I'm not taking the company's side or alpa's side. Our company gives us information. Its not always completely accurate, but it is usually within reason. Although it may not hold up in the long run. Our union is guilty of just the same thing, but sometimes they go a bit outside of reason (refer back to the security "spy" camera.
Next ALPA is going to not recommend going to casinos due to the high amount of "spy" cameras on the ceiling. Maybe "big brother" IRS is watching to see how much we win so they can audit us later. C'mon, get real.
Anyway, don't worry if anyone gets terminated for not checking out on Maestro. The union will get you your job back. They get people's jobs back for blatently violating company policy and safety standards. This is nothing.
