ALPA gone? Yes! Get rid of the Union and hire some professional negotiators to negotiate our contract. I'd gladly pay $20/month for that.
Bit off topic, anyone know why there was a CRJ9 surrounded by firetrucks between 36C and 36L yesterday afternoon around 3 p.m.? And why is 36R/18L closed? When will it open again, 'cause it is a pain in the arse with out it...

Ive worked for a lot of different companies in the past. Some good some not so good. However I have never seen a company run like Comair. First off, we have to have a contract, because if we didn't management would run rampant and do as they please with everyone. Ive never seen any company do this. Second, we have a contract... but do you think they follow it? Nope, not really. They constantly see how they can bend the rules and see how far they can take it before someone complains. And when they do complain, they pretty much say oh well deal with it. Third, ive never seen a company hire 200 people then in a year say, well we just dont need you right now and we have no idea when we are going to need you, deal with it. Sure ive had to cut my hours before and not work as much. But to outright say, bye deal with it! What kind of nut jobs are these people? Sure people can say its all daddy delta and they hate us and this and that. But the truth of the matter is, its your company to run. Start running it like a company instead of a zoo run by monkeys!

My understanding is that it will open again when the airport starts to get busy again. They have elected to discontinue using that runway to save money - they don't have to light it, sweep it, or clear it of snow in the winter - because with the reduction in the flight schedule, they have determined that they don't need it...I just did not know they were doing it so soon...

No, but seriously I agree, besides the NOTAM says it will open back up.

Our MEC Chairmen had a meeting with JS today and appearently JS was uninformed on proposals that ALPA has been giving to DS. DS has been keeping stuff from JS. Also our MEC has been working with the Delta MEC over the past month or so. This is definitely a step in the right direction. I think one of the top areas of interest is DS and what he is doing to this company.
