Scheduling question for you guys... Next month I have a week where I am on reserve for two days have recurrent ground the next two, aerodata training the next day and then immediately start 5 days on rsv... no days off in between. Basically I am working 10 days in a row. Please tell me that this violates the 1 in 7 rule?! I dont see any specific guidance in the contract with training as counting as days off or on with regards to 1 in 7. Help!

I think one of the top areas of interest is DS and what he is doing to this company.
What kind of proposals? For what? What is their to negotiate right now? What is there for the MEC to be working on right now with the Delta MEC? Seems to me the most important thing to "negotiate" right now is voluntary leaves, like the flight attendants got (and lets face it, it is a heck of a lot easier to replace an FA outright vs. a pilot) and we don't seem to be getting anywhere with that...

The numerous proposals about reducing the amount of furloughs. Cola, voluntary furloughs and what not. The MEC has been giving ideas to the company(DS) and he has been shooting them down and not sharing any of the info with the Vage.

During the BK the same thing happened. The union was offering many differerent ideas to the company and getting nowhere. It was then that the MEC went straight to Delta. Delta was confuesed as to why the offers weren't taken. Delta agreed with the MEC and then shortly after there was a plan. How bad is it when you have to go around your management to your parent company to get anywhere.

Delta should just get rid of Comair's management and just run the place themselves. How much money would that save over the course of a contract?

The only thing the contact specifies is that a pilot in training will be provided one (1) day off in any seven (7) consecutive day periods, but in another section it states that after completing training you will be released to rest of at least minimum domicile time as specified in Section 12.

I would call training scheduling and tell them to give you some time off in between!

I'd say that would violate 1 in 7.

Print a hard copy of your line for proof/record and call planning. I think what happens is (correct me anyone if I am wrong) is training is hand built into your schedule, so it is easy to miss the 1 in 7.

Good luck.

1) Scheduling has nothing to do with this.

2) Any day in training, reserve, etc counts as a work day. You get 1 day off in 7.

Call planning and they will be happy to fix it. Posting it on an internet forum isn't going to do much to fix it.
