Lots of variables to take into account with hubs, route overlap, aircraft types, seniority integration issues, company control, etc.

I tend to think that it may not be a good thing for us as Comair, but we will have to wait and see. Selvaggio seems to think we will be okay (per the latest conference call), but that may just be corporate rhetoric.
I was thinking the same thing....that this'll be really really really (x100) good..or really really really (x100) bad for Comair.

I never thought there would be an in-between.

I've heard mumbles of DL and NW going to wholly owned regionals only...or them going primarily wholly owned with one or two other contracts floating around.

Gah, i want to know now!

I did call them the day before groundschool and told them I didn't have my package and they didn't seem too concerned about it.
Yeah I thought about driving. But from socal that's $500 and if I got to JFK like I plan on so far then I won't have a use for it. So, probably have to drive it $500 worth back.

$500 is just gas, there is also all the other maintainace. 2,200+ miles from here.

Yeah, you probably ought to fly out here then.

For the 1000 buck you can probably buy a beater off of someone.

I wouldn't drive out here. I didn't drive out here from the West Coast either. You really don't need a car during training, the hotel van will take you or someone in your class will have a car. Do you know which hotel they are going to stick you in? If you ever need a ride, just holler!

Do they pay for a hotel during the entire training period? They only paid for our 1st week and then we were on our own. It would suck to only have a hotel van or depend on classmates for 2 months to take you where you needed to go

Thanks, that is very generous of you. And no that was what started this discussion, there are five working days before my class date and I have yet to received the illusive UPS package.

I call bullshizzle on that one. It's just a rumor that was started on this forum. Probably some wishful thinking by some comair pilot.

Personally, I think initial training at Comair is way too long! Do you really need to do 3 full days of CRM? I think it was about 2.5 months from ground to the end of IOE. Also, I managed just fine without a car.

FTR,
What is with the open time games? You told me that trip wasn't going to be released till 9 and its already gone to a reserve. I know it's not your decision. I just want to learn how to work the system.
