Get this... I was awarded 1-4 of OCT off with ST for the rest of the month, but got a call yesterday a week after the bid closed and was published, saying that I was not going to have the days off I was awarded and that I should be aware that I will be available to the company those days. So use me up until the day before furlough??

This makes me sooooo mad.

well if they have you on "soft days off". you have have no obligation to pick up your phone, just tell them..."sorry bout your luck" or maybe tell them you are *cough* sick.

I've always been a fan of the beer excuse... It usually goes something like this:

Scheduling: "Hi is this FO Diver Driver?"
Me: "You found me"
Scheduling: "We have a junior man assignment for you"
Me: "No you dont"
Scheduling: "Well... Ok... Um... we actually do"
Me: "Or so you thought... I'm on my 3rd beer.."
Scheduling: "Oh, ok... well, thank you anyway"
Me: "<burp> yep, peace!"
Scheduling: <click>

Roger... but to check in today for my trip I had to acknowledge the changes... so saying I've been drinking when I am aware of a trip would be... not good.
