Comair updates?

You guys did see that we're not eligible for the PTO program right?
"Full- and part-time regular, non-union employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible for the program, which has two primary elements: PTO Bank and Extended Sick Leave Bank."

I wasn't saying that our MEC was negotiation with their MEC. At least that's not what I got out of it. It has been moreso our MEC working with their MEC about "Delta Quality Hotels" and things like that.
I also don't ever see Delta adding Comair to it's seniority list. Yeah right! I can see it now. Comair has a bunch of guys that haev been here for near 20 years. Can you see those guys moving into a 757 and bumping a 12 year Delta Captain out of his seat? Maybe merging us with other regionals and merging those lists, but Delta will never got over the strike. Even if they do, they would never let Comair see it.

During the BK the same thing happened. The union was offering many differerent ideas to the company and getting nowhere. It was then that the MEC went straight to Delta. Delta was confuesed as to why the offers weren't taken. Delta agreed with the MEC and then shortly after there was a plan. How bad is it when you have to go around your management to your parent company to get anywhere. Delta should just get rid of Comair's management and just run the place themselves. How much money would that save over the course of a contract?"
You implied the the MEC was negotiating with the company and getting nowhere, so they went to Delta and that was how things got solved - by negotiating with Delta Management. That is what you said and I am thinking that is union koolaid designed to support their version of the current pi$$%$ing contest going on between the MEC and DS to make Comair management look bad - and I am thinking that version of the story cannot be true because Delta would not dare get involved because of single carrier issues. Not trying to start anything, but just wondering why anyone should believe what the MEC says any more than what the company says. Both have their agendas.

Wow, the company is switching to a PTO program. That is a vast improvement from the standard vacation/sick/floating holiday program. I wish ALPA could get us something like that!
And they get paid our for half of their remaining balance at the end of the year. Talk about a nice XMAS bonus

Let's run a quick pole just for the fun of it.....
Everyone feel free to chime in.
Let's all list the achievements of DS since he has held his position here. Let's look at how he has improved this company and our quality of life.

Comair's MEC working with Delta's MEC on strategy and QOL issues is no different than Comair working with Pinnacle, or Mesaba's MEC. During the BK ALPA went to Delta management, because Delta brought us into the BK and was wondering why things weren't being worked out on our side. This situation is a little different. Obviously each side will have their own pitcher of Kool-Aid and it is your choice of which to pour yourself a glass.

When the union presented the case over a year and a half ago for the second attempt at a bankruptcy contract, it was stated at the time that intermediaries were used to contact Delta management directly. The union may well not have "negotiated directly" with Delta, but until this end run around Comair management was made, there was a deadlock in the negotiations that appeared unbreakable. Once contact through the intermediary was made, the second bankruptcy inspired t.a. happened very quickly.
