It's not about $$$ to them. It's about beating the morale of this pilot group down to a pulp.
They intentionally spend a dollar to save a dime if it has ramifications on the QOL of the pilots of this airline. This airline has always had a history of poor labor relations with this pilot group and unfortunately that is not going to change any time soon.

Funny I am in an aviation leadership communication class right now for doctoral students.... I have three books sitting next to me right now as i write papers.... I have NUTS about Southwests leadership, Worst to First by Gordon Bethune of Continental in the late 1990's ............................and HARD LANDINGS.... they need a second edition of hard landings with a DS name included. I suggest you all read this book, I just got it off of amazon. This industry is such a disgrace.

It's a repeat of the bankruptcy furlough. It was all a facade. They were JM'ing left and right, vacations were being moved and cancelled and constantly running out of reserves.
I really, really, really hope that every pilot that remains on property will avoid picking up EF and will bid the min line value. Last time, a few pilots had to have a few friendly reminders, ie. "notes" dropped in boxes. Although now that is extremely difficult if not impossible to police anymore.
Those that don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it...

Don't know about you guys, but I say we stop worrying about 100% completion and D-0/A-14. You can see where that is getting us...... Let's show them how we didn't forget how to burn some of Fred's Fossil Fuel. The guys at NetJets a few years back showed that company how important they really are to the customer service of that company. We should do the same! Let your passengers see how mad you are. Let them see how happy you are to be working without a paycheck. Let them see how tired you are. Can't wait to leave this &#!~ hole.

Lets all try something new. This just might work. Are you ready? Here it goes...
Lets do our best to not post anything that start with "I heard that", or "someone I flew with told me". All these rumors flying around are making our jobs even more miserable and our are soaring! Tell us all you want about info- info that came from someone who makes decisions (off the flight deck). Call your status reps and tell us what they told you. Call or email JS or DS if you want and tell us about that.

Do thorough pre-flights. We can't be taking off illegally with dents, chipped paint, burnt out nav lights, deep cuts in tires, peeling/fading N#'s and ship #'s, tears in cabin carpeting, missing placards, missing moulding, PSU lights, grounding wires, etc... We've got to be sure these airplanes are 100% safe.
