Hey driver.......its official, I don't get a F@_#! anymore. Not doing any favors for anyone (except fellow pilots). All this time I kept saying to myself, surely they have something more concrete than Mesa's and Pinnacle's possible contract cancellations. But they didn't, as shown by the stop of upgrades and hiring.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills! Its like management at Comair, Delta, and every other major airline operates on a mentality of "let's do this and just see what happens", without thinking anything through.

P.S.....sorry to all that had hopes of starting at Comair. Good Luck in finding other jobs.

When I talked to Art today he mentioned that they just heard something from Delta, so I'm guessing that is what prompted the stop.I like your positive thinking though, I think there are a lot of us in the same boat you are.

You just can't hire and train people for something you don't have or will get. Comair is not going to hire and pay 300 people to sit on their a$$ for doing nothing, which they are actually already doing in JFK with FOs. I don't believe DL approached Comair and said hire and train so many guys and we WILL give you X amount of flying and more aircraft, especially when DL is trying to cut back on domestic flying. 1) Is there a chance DL take away the 90s from F8 and give them to us? I think there is maybe a 20% chance. 2) We will not get 90s from Pinnacle, they own those airplanes! 3) Apparently the UAL flying was turned down by Comair because of contract length. And like I said on another thread, you will probably see a continued increase in JFK, especially over the summer, as F8 continue to moves out and DL continues to expand internationally out of JFK. And don't even get me started on the upgrades. In the memo they stated they had less attrition than expected. No $hit! Where the hell would people go? Nobody is hiring and parking airplanes. They need to keep those upgrades coming and relieve some of the reserve CAs in JFK, I'm sure we'd all like to take a vacation once in a while.

/end rant

This is how I feel right now...

In a word, no. Comair has finally discovered they will not be needing 300 new pilots after all. New hire classes are cancelled. Upgrade classes are cancelled. we're not talking a matter of weeks, we're talking many months, if at all.

To those in the pool/newhires/interviewees, I'm sorry to see you abused like the regular Comair guys. They do this every year or so- award upgrades to 40 or 60 first officers then pull them, open bases and close them a year later, hire a hundred pilots then send 60 home before class starts. Comair has had 4 CEOs in 4 years and doesn't have a clue who they are anymore. Comair seems like a ship without a captain.

If you are in "the pool" you should be looking for another gig, something you'd enjoy doing for a year or two. And don't turn down any other airlines (well, maybe Mesa) in hopes that Comair will call you back soon.

A lot of us saw this coming three months ago, but hoped that Comair was turning the corner. Guess not. I sure wish the news was better, but I'm just telling it like it is.

Good luck should you accept this mission. This airline will self destruct in 10 seconds...

I had called Art about another reason and that is when he had told me that my class had be cnx. You will be getting the call soon though. With the industry the way it is, don't expect to be getting a call for a class this year from what I can guess. On the bright side, they only had classes throught the 21rst so they are only cnx 3 or 4 groups. This puts us higher in the ranks for when the do decide to call. Keep your day job and build time and if you can find something might even help brigten your resume for other employers. Good luck to everyone!!!

I would imagine its due to Pinnacle getting their contract back for 90 days and flying that was projected to be picked up that has not. Oh yea, fuel...@#*&ing speculators!
