Comair updates?

Nope that was pure rumor. There were two RFP's one was for a short term contract, which was for a years worth of flying, and the other is for a more lucrative long term contract. Comair turned down the short term, due to costs involved with leasing new aircraft as well as other issues. There will be a reciprocal trip up to ORD so the Comair VP's get to check out UAL's operations.

Well, the RFP, if anyone recalls was EXACTLY what MESA flys for United (at least the one posted on here, take it with a grain of salt). But whoever posted it, got it from an internal email, so you have to figure it's at least a little bit legit.

Since this is the first I've heard of the United RFP, does anyone have any other details about it? Apparently, this is in regards to Mesa's flying, so would this include both 50- and 70-seat flying? I didn't realize Comair could do any flying outside of DL...

The RFP is for both 50 and 70 seat flying, but more 70 than 50.

UAL guys reneged and wanted to change the contract from 3-5 years (can't remember) to only 1 year and Comair said no.
So the contract bidding started all over again.
I haven't heard any more about it other than above.
