Default Quick question

I just looked at that seniority list and had a thought.....

Comair wanted to hire 300 pilots: we only hired 110 I think. So does the 300 number include those who didn't get hired or are in the pool?

Just a thought...

lets hope. You might be on to something. If we are getting rid of only 14 A/C but cutting 21% of the pilots, while we are currently grossly short handed, does this make sense. But then again Logic and Comair are like oil and water.

Probably not unfortunately. You can't furlough someone that hasn't gotten hire yet.

Ya, the 300 would come off of the seniority list.... they wouldn't count the swimmers...

Not true: I know I'm arguing symantecs here but I thought the memo said we would be reducing up to 300 pilots. If you have a slot that is no longer needed, that is a reduction in and of itself. When I worked in a different life, we also went through a "downsizing". But alot of people had already left and therefore, those vacancies that were never refilled were counted as part of the reduction.

Just a thought.....maybe a little glimmer of light.....maybe

That's the thing... we never had the 'slots' you speak of. Big Daddy D just told us to be ready to accept additional flying from mesa, etc... it never came. The 300 will come out of the seniority list.

We are now left with a surplus of pilots... In addition to that, we are having additional cuts that will eat into our group of pilots that were hired prior to this big buildup...

It sucks... I know. I am only about 140 from the bottom of that list with almost a year behind me here at Comair... I guess all we can do is hope that 300 is a gross over estimation and senior guys take voluntary options...

Well for now I'm going to agree to disagree. I think we had the pilot spots because we hired 110 pilots and where looking to hire an additional 190. Don't get me wrong....I don't want anyone out on the street. But I'm just not sure its as bad as this board has stated. But hey what do I know.....I have a few back up plans and all I can do is wait......

BTW: when does the 70/90 August bids get posted?
