Comair updates?

Ugh, back in the 50 days, I had 3 of the 3am readies. 2 of them I had a trip planned as soon as I checked in. That makes it so much easier.

wow....I think that's the biggest single-month change I've seen since I've been here the last year.
Still no word on the new displacement yet either. Maybe the staffing levels will remain the same and I'll get to hang out at home on long call for the entire month......hah!

So if logic prevails (I know that's a commodity even more scarce at Comair than cheap jet fuel), that would indicate CVG would have to lose about the same amount of block hours to equal ninety total furloughs.

They were JM last night in CVG too, yet amazingly no open time showing. Huh....llet's evaluate: JM at 1.5x pay or have open time available to avoid the administrative nightmare scheduling is faced with trying to JM...
It occurred to me that our flight attendants' contract poses a problem with the company when it comes to eMaestro. A lineholder F/A can take trips away from reserve F/As AND their contract stipulates that open time always be made available. Both of these require staffing visibility that the pilots currently are missing from this p.o.s. software. How the company will manage to dodge the so-called privacy bullet remains to be seen.

Just in checking the block hours for September in JFK (5520) divided by the min line value (76) equals 73 lines in JFK. Add in a few additional lines for vacation etc. and still, significantly more than 1/2 the base will be on reserve!
I just hope I can hold long call, because it seems like most of the base will be sitting ready for no reason.
P.S. If anyone thinks my math is wrong, please let me know, I'm hoping it is wrong also
