Well sitting ready reserve is considered working, and I don't ever remember that we have to sit ready reserve in the crew room so like big foot said, they will have a hard time getting a hold of people now that we can't be on our phones.

So that means we will have new totals of 219 captains and 176 FO's. Not to mention the minimum number of FO's they say they need is 180. Why do we need 43 more captains that FO's, and why are they putting themselves 4 FO's short of what they say they need? Does anyone ever even try to use their head over in the GO?

There are about 20 70-seat Captains listed as MGR status in the bid packet - Chief pilots, sim instructors, etc. Plus some line check guys, I'd guess?

And since the average 70-seat Captain has about 20 years seniority, that's a lot of vacation weeks the FOs don't have.

That still doesn't explain why the FOs would be lower than minimum. The 15 are in addition to the last vacancy bid. Remember all the guys, like DiverDriver, who's training was TBD. So I think you add the 15 to all those and the number should be pretty solid.

dont forget i think they are counting on downgrading a few ca into those 70 fo seats. Why put out a vacancy bid for 70 fo's just to turn around and displace them when that bid comes out.

If that's the case, then why didnt' they show negative CRJ50 captain numbers like they did on the displacement bid?

Anyone know how super pilot Jesse is? Haven't heard from him in awhile.

Saw him the other day in Kennedy doing IOE. Said things were going well... I just assume he is too busy for APC until he gets the hang of things.

Thanks!! Glad to see he made it and I hope there are no furloughs, if there is, may it be short!!!

SuperPilotJesse 08-06-2008 07:45 AM

I'm doing well.

I have been off IOE for a couple weeks now.

In JFK now. Crashpad is okay at best.

I'm with the worst crew ever right now, on a three day.

Ugh.

Give it time. I'm sure that you will eventually have a worse crew one day when you have been here a little bit longer.
