Everyone:

I'm not saying things are perfect and wonderful at Comair: they aren't. That said, I think it is counter productive to speculate about some rumor (that may or may not be true) and let that negatively affect us.

I have heard some great rumors (both good and bad). If I had listened to everyone we would have a BOS base and have been sold about 1.7 years ago.

Do you realize that you just posted this on an Airlinepilotcentral.com thread? You have a better chance getting management to give us a raise.

Do you honestly think Delta would rather have Mesa as a carrier than Comair?

Read the injunction carefully and you will see the reason for freedoms large increase in jfk flying. The injunction says that Delta must give freedom back the same amount of flying they had prior to the announcement to cnx their flying.

The only problem is that delta had already trimmed alot of the flying in jfk to ,omg oils at $140 a barrel, levels they are now. Delta also announced they would pretty much cancel every RJ route out of MCO.(Freedom did most of that)

The judge comes back with the ruling that they most receive the same amount of hours they operated before, so Delta gave them everything they did out of JFK before and some of Comair's routes to cover the flying that had already been trimmed. They also received flying out of cvg to cover what was lost in MCO.

Has anyone heard anything today about this aircraft? I hope the guy made it down alright. To listen to someone's voice real-time in an emergency and knowing there is nothing you can do to help is a terrible feeling. Like I said, I hope he's OK.
Leaving BOS today two other a/c reported hearing an ELT on the guard frequency, though that was this afternoon... I wonder if that was him? Hope he is okay...

[quote=RiddleEagle18;453972]Read the injunction carefully and you will see the reason for freedoms large increase in jfk flying. The injunction says that Delta must give freedom back the same amount of flying they had prior to the announcement to cnx their flying.

The court order only said that Delta couldn't use the contract provisions for calculating Mesa performance for the months of October and December '07 and February '08. The ruling further said that Delta was permitted to use the contract provisions starting April 1st.

By winning the injunction Mesa is entitled to either continue to fly for delta until the court case in heard or if mesa would go on to win the court case delta must pay mesa for all the flight hours they would have flown.

Which means Mesa gets every single hour of their flying back because Delta doesnt want to risk having to pay Comair to do it and then pay mesa if they lose the court case.

The problem is Delta already pulled back the schedule in JFK and MCO. So Delta had to give them back everything they previously had in JFK plus some of Comair's to make up the difference.

Eh, I would figure that sounds about right. DL and Comair like paying for things they're not using and they both share the common bond of wasting money.
