As Comair is a wholly owned entity of Delta, Comair's profitability is completely controlled by how profitable Delta needs Comair to be.
There's a serious flaw with putting any amount of faith in the accuracy of numbers presented as "profit" or "expenses" in a corporate structure such as ours.

If I "pay" my kid $100 a week but charge him $120 for room, board, and utilities, he's not profitable.
But if I decide to charge him $90 a week, viola... he's profitable!

Comair brings in it's own additional revenue. We make a killing for our MRO services and ground handling contracts. Most of those proceeds don't go to Delta. Like you said, we don't have a contract with Delta, so any revenue gained from regional lift is skewed.
