Been hearing reports that Comair may be looking to furlough another 20-40 pilots. Anyone heard anything similar?

lets wait and see how it goes with all 206 gone. I know that one storm used every reserve in the system. This see how it is with another 100 gone.

Wonder if it is still there.... I'm sure some management type threw it away already.

OA,

Not trying to be negative....But our business model for growth only happens if 1) mesa doesn't win their court case and or 2) if they go out of business....There are several large holes with that model.

A) what happens if Mesa both wins their lawsuit and gets another line of credit? That means both Delta and United will have to wait until the contract expires in 2011 I think.

B) We are still Delta's most expensive wholly owned regional. Why would they want to pay more? Notice all the other "promised" flying being shifted away?

C) Delta still has contracts with ASA/Skywest, Republic, Pinnacle to name a few. Why do we expect that if mesa did lose or go out of business that Delta wouldn't fill its obligations with those other companies.

I'm not trying to tell people the sky is falling, but I am stating not to pin all your hopes on the outcome of this Mesa/Freedom mess.

Have to agree with you. The dust has been settling here at OH for the last 5 years. Broken contracts, broken LOA's, Broken promises, Airplanes, NO airplanes, Reduction of airplanes, furloughs, down grades, G.O. resignations, Concourse C closure, Vague press releases on the future of Comair, etc...I would like to be reminded of ANYTHING positive that has occured here at OH that would add hope or boost morale for at least the pilot group. Reality is we are a shrinking and diminishing debt with the hopes of surviving based on another regional's demise. Even then with so many players, there is only speculation that OH will survive.

December bid packets are out today in ops. Good news is December block time for the 70/90 is up by over 500 hours with a time of 7986.50 vs 7437.35 for Nov.

Bad news is:
".....at this time system block hour projections show no indication of a need to upgrade or recall first officers until late 2009."
