does anyone else find it funny that open time has been closed for 4 months, but they open it up for a flight that departs in 3 hrs with no FO assigned?

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

Grab a drink and hold on to your butts, it is about to get interesting.

Current rumor is sometime in Jan... I'll believe it when I see it.

It's also supposed to include the upgrades to Maestro we were promised. I doubt it.

Has anyone received any information to help us transition to furlough status? The contract states that we are entitled to the same insurance coverage through 12/31.

The only correspondence I've received from the company is the certified notice of furlough...and the damn pens.

Could they handle it more poorly?

I didn't even get a pen! So on our last day we just turn in our stuff and that's it I guess. It just seems so unorganized and so unprofessional.

You can have one of mine. I hit the jackpot and got two!

Seriously though, you'd think they would at least give us some information about how to continue/pay our health insurance through 12/31, clarify the flight benefits etc. I know that HR will send us COBRA stuff, but we won't need that until 1/1.

I've tried calling benefits and gotten nowhere. They're having "staffing issues". So are we!

C'mon Andy, that was a little preachy, don't ya think? We're on the same side here.

As everyone being furloughed does, I do read ALPA correspondence, but the insurance issue has never been addressed. Also, they may have asked us to report flight benefit problems, but the clear answer has NOT been provided from the company. Are we going to be regular S3 though 11/30 as the contract states, or are we going to be S3B from 11/5 on, as I've heard happened to 10/5 guys.

I can, however, quote ALPA ad nauseum regarding ASAP and min line value. Yes, those are important issues. Right now different issues are important to different parts of the pilot groiup. Furloughess just happen to have lower priority issues. Even ALPA National has not mentioned Comair furloughs in any of its messages.

I cannot find the ALPA email that details where I should send my health insurance premium to ensure that it is properly credited. I need to make sure that my wife and children don't lose health benefits. Maybe you can forward the email that addresses how to cover insurance premiums between furlough and 12/31.

I know the company doesn't give a crap. That is crystal clear. What about ALPA?
