How about that for job satisfaction!

THIS is what you should consider when choosing your prospective employer... because after all, what is this career worth if you can't even write profane graffiti on walls anymore?!?!?

DISCLAIMER: If you DO end up getting caught writing profanity addressed to your chief pilot, and get called in by the aforementioned individual, simply print out a copy ehaekercfi's post and you'll be just fine!
hahaha guess I hit a sore spot with that one!

100K on your education to become a pilot? Where did you go to school? You didn't have to go to a big university to get your certificates. The airlines could give a damn where you learned how to fly.

Complaining about the low wages? You knew what you were getting into before you signed up for the job.

im not thinking anything, im just trying to get some information on the airline. ive never heard anything bad about ASA at all. its just that instructors here dont talk about it all that much cuz they all wanna based in ORD so they go to AE, Skywest, or Republic.

Ok fine. ASA once the TA become stone will be just as good or better to work for than AE, Skywest, or Republic. Because:

1. As long as things stay steady, ASA is a sure way to Delta.

2. Pay will be on par or better than the other top regionals.

3. Scheduling is willing to work with you

4. Trip/Duty rigs....nuff said

5. Upgrade time is 2.5 years and droppin

BTW even though their mins are "low" the interview process is said by some to be the hardest. Flying the full motion Level-D CRJ 700 sim to commercial standards was one of the most challenging things Ive ever done. So alot of guys with that low time who think they are hot shots dont make it.

Carib makes some good points however, ASA may have had alot of guys hired at DAL but it is in no way a SURE WAY to DAL. I know a guy who recently interviewed with DAL and the ONLY three guys not hired that day were ASA CA's..... go figure. NOTHING is a sure thing in this business.

oh im sure it is. i have had the opportunity to fly the full motion g-550 sim a couple times and it was def. something to get used to. but im sure that, even though its not full motion, a 3-week course flying a level 5 CRJ sim as you know we have at WMU doesnt hurt either....

You are right, I stand corrected.

Trust me when i say ASA is on the way up. Now that Delta has taken over the ground handling, the on-time performance will be significantly better. Hope all the info helps.

Hell I wanted to interview with them..... 2700 hours.. all ME turbine... no glass... no interview.....

the TA def puts ASA in a good position from the pilots side for sure, good for you guys.

Hopefully RAH will push the FO pay a bit to compete, but then the contract just became amendable 16 days ago.... probably a year off or more.

They are -200 captains. They say scheduling still has way too much control of their lives, the 401k match is no good, and the retro pay is not enough.
