Since the other one got locked before I could respond...
Hey, don't get on me for taking it too far. I'm actually far from being a Union guy. I am not really a big voter for who they support. I'm just stating that if people are paying for a Lawyer to protect their work rules, they will be upset when someone else doesn't. If every regional was in ALPA that would make negotiating really good since they know what to ask for and every time someone new negotiates they can keep improving our pay and QOL little by little. That's why it would be good.
Again I'm not a union guy so don't misconstrue where i stand.

i understand. trust me i really wished this vote had passed. i dont have to use skw jumpseats anymore, but a lot of people do and i just dont see that as being the answer. theyre 2800 pilots, they span the entire country, and denying them jumpseats when 900 of those pilots voted yes on alpa would be unfair.
this will go away soon. people wanted to do this same thing to jetblue a while back but that eventually faded too.

And next time you write a contract you might want to include a provision for alter-ego airlines. I feel your pain with tsa, but I’m sure no one thought management would stoop to that level. Live and learn. The solution is not discontinuing contracts, but writing better ones.....

Hey Gillis101, sorry to change the subject, but I need to make a comment about your profile photo. I believe from my recollection that last Sunday the 'Boys put a 35-17 butt smacking on the Eagles, including a nice Eagle mockery by T.O.
Go Cowboys!

Yep, ol' Bruce is a 757 captain now, cool for him and bragging rights to say you are a 75 CA and an internationally known rock star. As well as the front man for one of the best metal bands of all time.
So, that old adage applies then. The guys flying the DC-9 at NW are nothing but regional pilots then?

News flash.... To me looks like skywest wanted to wait until the union vote was over to get this approved.

Great job skywest guys, like I said yawl should up your stock deduction % because that is were the money is going..... This is the second 5 million shares for the year.
I would bet this money hinged on the union vote. Now that we voted the union out, the board of directors immediately approved the second buy back. And fyi, look at the amount spent on the first buyback as listed on the earnings report is; As of sep 30th skyw has bought back 4.2 million shares at an aveg of 24.94 per share totaling 103.8 million.
So slapp, your raise is in the form of a stock price increase. Hope you own a lot of options or shares…

you sure have a simplistic, unrealistic, and incorrect idea about how corporate finance and (separately) the investment markets work. in addition, you know nothing about the trans states contract. yet you apparently feel qualified to spout opinions on all of these things. i'd be embarrassed if i were you. it's not that hard to read a book, take a class, ask some people who actually know some of these things.
