Default RAH Interview

I have an interview with RAH on the 20th. What kind of simulator have you guys used recently for the interview? I've heard everything from an old Baron FTD to something with glass. Just would like a head's up.

Thanks!

Also, when do I need to tell them that I prefer S5?

They use a PCATD desktop sim for the eval....IF you get the sim.... only 4 of 6 the day I interviewed got the sim eval. ( both of the guys who did not get the sim eval did NOT get offered a position. )

It was configured like a Baron but was very straight forward. T/O... climb out then direct to a VOR for a hold... couple turns in holding... then direct to the OM for the full procedure turn ILS followed by a missed ....engine failure on the missed.... eval over.

They will more than likely ask you during your 2 on 1 interview that IF you were offered a job which crew base would be your choice. I was NEVER asked out right which certificate ....just base.

The tests are straightforward. Have your info for the PRIA paper work ready. Our whole group was done by 10 minutes till 1 in the afternoon. I was the last to go to the sim eval and the last to do the HR/Pilot interview. They called me while I was still at the airport with the offer.

Good luck.

Pretty much what Herc said. I didn't have to do sim (121 qualified) and was offered S5 after telling them I wanted ORD as a base. Still took the Wonderlic test. 50 questions in 12 minutes. Obviously you can't finish them all but I would suggest getting through at least 25 of them. One dude who said he was on #19 when the timer went off went home after testing. 25 question technical test, easy. Get gouges of aviationinterviews.com and its pretty spot on. Good luck.

I thought I was flying thru the wonderlick and only got to 32...... I dont think we had anyone less than 25 or 26.... questions...

Yea the tech test was pretty basic IFR type stuff with a couple of MET questions...

Get flightsim 2004 or 2006 and load a baron. It's the same exact plane. Practice shooting the ILS into INDY(32 or 36 I think it is). I beat that thing like it owed me money all thanks to flightsim! I was hired in March and I had to do all the tests and the sim. I studied the cheat sheet and it made no difference. I read the IFR oral guide on my way up there to brush up on everything and aced the tests and had a coffee break while everyone was still in there taking it. Had I not randomly found my IFR oral guide while unpacking a box I probably would have spent the whole time in there on those tests. Half the things they asked left me sitting there wondering who really cares. I mean when's the last time ATC asked you to do a DFsteer?

I'd stay away from that gouge. Almost nothing in it was in my tests. Just hit the IFR oral guide/ATP oral guide and you'll ace them.

Mine was almost word for word from the gouges. Nothing from ATP so I'd study both.
