They know what to do and how to do it in order to give up just enough to retain their large profits, while keeping the majority happy enough to vote in managements favor. As far as examples, you don’t have to look very far to get more than you need, with the last union vote and two pay proposals leading the pack. Please don’t get me wrong and don’t spin my meaning, I’m just stating the obvious.

I respect our pilots, I think that we have a quality group that does an exceptional job, but it baffles me that they would rather settle for being near the top instead of on top. Unfortunately, without representation and a quality bargaining team, we’ll never achieve the level we so richly deserve. Our pilot group leads the way when it comes to performance and Kool-Aid drinking; but not when it comes to pay. The large majority of SKW pilots feel that being near the top without having to fight for it is worth more than an extra 5% they’d gain if they had to struggle and battle for it. Although I don’t completely agree, it’s no reason to bash them. We're not crossing picket lines, we don't work for an alter-ego airline and our total compensation package plus QOL is at least good enough to rank us among the top. Just because we’re not union doesn’t mean we’re bringing down our industry. No, GoJet and Orenstein are bringing down the industry.

I do not agree with TW's philosophy or views and I feel that he has become a true SAPA Rep in accordance with SAPA’s disappointing history. But, we’ve seen what happens when we get the type of SAPA rep we need, Mgmnt runs them off. Just ask our last President.

SKW is a top tier regional airline regardless of representation or not, but they could be so much more. Unfortunately, I can honestly say that it will never happen while I’m here and if it does ever happen it will be long after I’m gone. 65% against representation and 70% in favor of this BS pay proposal tells me that the majority of SKW pilots are consuming something stronger than Mgmnt’s Kool-Aid. I’d go as far as to call it Mgmnt’s moonshine, straight from Jerry's basement still. Maybe mixed with some fruit punk and fruit to create Jerry's Moonshine Hooch.
I agree, Skywest could be considered a powerhouse in the regional industry...however im dissapointed in the turn of events lately....you could have done alot better......

I did what I could by voting NO for this BS proposal, spreading the word of its short comings and what a no vote could propel us too. I was not the one who negotiated it but yes those who did could have and should have done a lot better, just like 90% of SKW pilots should have voted no and sent a message to St. George saying that we want what we deserve.

I’d like to say “maybe next time” but the same will happen then as well. We have no balls, no bark and no bite.

Like someody else said, it doesn't matter what anybody outside of SkyWest thinks about the pay proposal. I voted no, but I fully respect and thank everyone who voted, regardless of which box they checked. It's our deal here...if we wanted outside input, we would have let the entire industry vote

But Skywest specifically has >$700 MILLION in the bank and making about $150 MILLION a year!
If you think that Skywest is immune to the problems that all regional face right now because they have historically been profitable then you a wrong. Right now all our major partners and potential partners are watching us looking to see who they can rely on for quality and competitive pricing make no mistake about that. You can mark my words there will be regionals out there right now who won't be the players they currently are this time next year if around at all.

Skywest can afford to maintain their "competitive pricing" and give just a little bit more to the pilots. That was my point with three quarters of a BILLION DOLLARS in the bank and making $150 MILLION a year.

Oh, but it does matter to everyone what Skywest pilots are paid.

Just curious since there are 19 pages now. How did the vote go? I started sifting through but after several pages hadn't found the answer and gave up lol. Watching the episode of Lost I missed so I'm looking for someone to spoon feed me the answer

$150 mil a year isn't that much when you break it down over the size of the operation.
