The APC page says you guys are hiring street Capt's but I cant find that posted on the companys website. So are they hiring ? What are the min's?
What is the junior base?
What is the typical sched like? Overnights, block hrs, etc?
I know its not nirvana, but I am from FL and would like to stay here.
Comments and info about a day in the life would be appriciated, as well as the most effective way to apply.
One more thing. Does that 1900 have an autopilot?

They hire you as an FO and upgrade you w/in a few months. If you are on top of your game in the sim, they might ask you to jump into the left seat and do your type ride then and there. They just want you to be comfortible with the work rules, regs, and airplane.
Hahaha...no...it doesn't have an autopilot. ALL hand flying! Fun airplane!

There mins are etched in stone. You must have 1000 or 1500TT to be hired as a street captain.
As far as receiving accurate and pertinent information about Gulfstream, I would think that it would behoove you to call them directly and ask the questions that you have posted. There are one or two guys that participate in posting comments on this forum that fly for Gulfstream or at least supports those that do. Most here do not like Gulfstream b/c the company offers you a guaranteed job after completing their "First Officer Training Program." It is referred to as "Pay For Training" or PFT and is looked upon as paying for your job as oppose to competing for the positions based upon TT, experience and and like.
Although it is true that you pay for the training in either a 1900 or 120, one should be able to secure the right seat base upon the number of hours that is required to fly those a/c. Other regionals have mins as low as 300 hours, which seems to be the norm, for a/c such as the 1900, EMB-120, Dash-8, ATR-72 and so on.
I hope those that do fly for them are able to offer you some sound & viable information. Btw, the bases are Tampa, Key West, Miami, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach as per their website.

Here is a very simple flow chart for you to follow:
Am I PAYING this company to give me a job?

|-->YES: Run, don't walk, as far away as you can! This is PFJ (very bad)!!!
|
|-->NO: This company might be ok. Further investigation needed.

Sorry, I should clairify I am not asking about the FO program. I have about 4500 hrs about 3000 121, all sic though (I was part of the Independence Air expiriment). Curently flying for a pt 135 operator.
I certainly am not going to buy an FO job, but I am interested in the possibility of starting in the left seat. I am in FL, and getting to fly the islands is very appealing, turbine pic dosent hurt either.
If you have the required time (ATP, 4500TT, 3000 ME etc) will they hire directly to the left seat? If so what is the best route to the interview?
Also any info about the day to day life woking there, sched's, pay, etc would be greatly appriciated.

I applied as a street captain within the last 30 days. The chief pilot responded the next day and said they are not hiring street captains anymore. They are doing FOs only. He did say that I was over qualified to be a FO, lol. I did not go any further. I am typed in the 1900, if that tells you anymore. My times-8000TT, 2000+ turboprop, blah, blah, blah. Send in a resume. Who knows.

Im not an Airline Pilot.. but if im not wrong and you wanna move higher, I think you can try NetJets... its better than any regional.. and you get paid more! They have bases here in south Florida....
These are their minimums:
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate (Multi-Engine Land)
Current FAA First Class Medical certificate
2500 hours total pilot time
500 hours fixed wing multi-engine time
250 hours instrument time (actual or simulated in flight - excludes simulator time)
Let me say this again... im not an Airline Pilot... I just know from what I see online!! and these are the minimums posted on their website!... of course if you really want to go to a regional then this is not an option.
Good luck!
Jose.
