Q400 Climb Profile

ok guys, i think i'll just stay quiet on this one. I get excited when I can peg 3500 fpm at T/O power, empty, cool day, high pressure, shallow rotation to get some airspeed to trade off and, sustain that climb rate through 1000' AGL. The ATR is a big ole beast, but i bet we can make the first turn off! ;o)

I'd be nervous climbing at less than 250.. I dont care what your ROC is unless you're climbin' at 290
What ROC does the Q get when climbing @ 310? ya

haha I knew exactly what you were talking about before I even saw what kind of airplane. Crawling up to 15,000 at 500fpm is fun, too.

Um, yeah. I remember 2 summers ago taking off out of ELP in an XR. 104 degrees, ETO. Never broke 1000 fpm till we go above 10k and were able to actually level off to get some energy. Still, it NEVER broke 2000 fpm at ANY point, and that was with trying to zoom it.

I thought that was Chuck Yeager and a Cheyenne 400LS. Now held by the Turbo Raven. Formally the record was held by the RareBear for prop jobs.

The 400LS is a badazz plane.. I see it out climbing many aircraft. Love the Garrett engines, you can hear them comin' from miles away
