I know he's kidding or wishing, but CAL pilots will NEVER relax scope. If anything it will get tighter.

If it's a done deal, we haven't made changes to our contract. So we'll just merge all the lists and carry out the rest of the provisions in letter 1. I bet that would be fine with the majority of our pilots.

Riiiight. Merge lists. That's a good one. Spoken to any ASA guys lately? Why don't you ask them how the Skywest purchase is going for them.

I heard that the deal is done and ExpressJet is actually buying Skywest now.

I know these things, I live in Utah!

I truly hope you're right but NEVER is a very long time. I'd expect a mainline CA to understand that as I'm sure you do.

Hate to break this to you, but if SKYW buys us without us first modifying our contract thats exactly what will happen. Which is exactly why posts about the deal being done make no sense. Everyone at XJT will vote before the deal is done. Unless SKYW buys us as the contract stands. ASA didn't have that in their contract.

Educate yourself.

Its completely futile to try and explain a Union contract and especially Scope to *some* people in that pilot group, or outsiders without a dog in the fight.

Have no illusions, a merger will not happen and if the language doesn’t get changed then the purchase will not happen. If the purchase falls through then don't be surprised if you start seeing SKW a/c floating around IAH in CAL colors while being flown by SKW pilots.

Either way I truly wish you all the best and I you mean no offense, this is just reality.
