Any highspeed line is a "bottom of the seniority" line, and gets 10-11 days off. If you do the math, that puts me at the bottom of the seniority list, although there are plenty of senior people who bid highspeeds. How many days off do you need when you're already only working 35 hours?

My honest most humble opionion... I think you are really close to the bottom, you don't want any good news for anyone else b/c that means bad news for you and your most coveted west coast base... I'm sorry but we are all about to feel the hurt... you're animosity towards pinnacle isn't going to make it easier for you...
As an outside observer... you get every single Pinnacle thread closed... why??? my opinion b/c you didn't get a job there and now you are trying to justify it... sorry... have fun in NJ

Any highspeed line is a "bottom of the schedule" line, and gets 10-11 days off. If you do the math, that puts me at the bottom of the seniority list, although there are plenty of senior people who bid highspeeds. How many days off do you need when you're already only working 35 hours?
1. Our "bottom of the schedule" lines have a minimum of 12 days off.
2. 35 hours?! Man if we get 75 hour lines, which are the lowest, they usually come with 15 or more days off. With being really under coverage right now for the summer, everyone is getting a minimum of 12 days off and 88+ hour lines.
3. I just made 90 hours on reserve with 12 days off and spent all 12 of those days at home.
Again, what are you saying with "How many days off do you need when you're already only working 35 hours?" That sounds like you don't care if you don't get that many days off and your pay is always the minimum monthly guarantee. Anytime you are crediting less than 75 hours a month, you should be getting more than 14 days off, otherwise those days aren't being even remotely productive.
I'm sure a lot of the other guys can chime in how much they credit with minimum day off lines and usually it is over Minimum Monthly Guarantee. This isn't meant to be a "ExpressJet is God" post, because I have seen even more productive usage elsewhere, but my goodness, 10 days off and you only make minimum monthly guarantee?

Mesa guys get 8 days off a month, what is your point? you continually get Pinnacle threads closed and for what? I really honestly don't understand what your problem is with them? you are at xjet... you didn't interview with them, you have a "good contract" *** is the problem??? I'm based in ATL and I really don't care what happens to Pinnacle or not? I hope the best for all ya'll and I try to stay out of things but what is this guys problem?
I don't close Pinnacle threads. I usually don't even post something unless someone post something completely out there. Such as the poster who suggested FDX's work rules make pilots upset just as much as Pinnacle's. What is that about?

Here's what he said: "I have friends at AWAC, XJT, and FDX that have all complained about some of the same crap Pinnacle guys complain about- money isn't everything." His point merely seemed to be that there are pilots at every airline who complain about work rules.
QOL is what you make it. As has been stated numerous times, believe it or not, there are some happy pilots at 9E, especially those who live in base.
You, on the other hand, seem to go out of your way and spent a lot time and energy bashing pilots at an airline you don't even work at.

As for standing up for mainline Delta pilot's, I am trying to keep a select few of you who get off by bashing them, as well as others in this industry. I remember very well your "Buying of Mesaba" thread. Ripping on mainline pilots deserves no sympathy from me or others. You keep this going on by your continually defense of those issues instead of flat out refuting them.

as to QOL on standups..... IF you live in base they can be a great thing. RAH uses them sparingly... but a previous employer ( AE ) used them ALOT!!! I bid them the few months I lived in base because we generally had a 9pm or later show time and I was home AT THE HOUSE, usually NLT than 815am.... 5-6 hours in the hotel.. ate dinner EVERY night with the family.... ..You get the picture... and I think we generally had 12 or 13 scheduled days....and never flew more than 35-40 hours a month... and pulled guarantee.. so yea id take that in a heartbeat for QOL.....
p.s. Tpersuit.... most of the time its not WHAT you say... its the WAY you say it....

Boy talk about getting way out there. A small comment about all pilots complaining and everyone goes ape ****. Higney is right, Ive talked to a UPS guy that recently was at a regional and he couldnt believe what the senior guys there complained about. I think that was the point of the statement. Im sure in a perfect world nobody would come to pinnacle until we had a contract, however, it is hard when people are losing jobs left and right. A job is a job. And its not like we arent fighting for better contract, if we could walk into managements office and beat it out of them we would(some of us happily). I certainly times are a changing here at Pinnacle and hopefully we will soon be a place everyone can say boy I want a contract like them, look at their QOL.
So any news about that contract, lets get this thread back on track.

Tpersuit... again "here we go". I would appreciate the respect as a professional pilot for you to observe the saying "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything". In the world of technology that includes what you type. I have grown up around this aviation 121 world since I could talk- figure it out, if I live in MEM and occasionally reference FDX folks. You obviously don't remember how things were in the 90's. Delta and United had the best contracts, places like FDX and UPS were "just jobs". Now look at the industry. I am not bashing a single group and will never bash a group, especially a fellow ALPA group. Your lack of respect for fellow aviators is more disturbing than your words.
Now back to the thread. I do not make a ton of money at PNCL but I did clear $28K on my W-2 last year with most of the year on first year pay. With 90+ hour lines I still had 14-16 days off most months. Many months I had over 100 hours of credit between a 95 hour line and delays/swaps/yada yada. For the year I flew 975ish hours (sched bought me off 1 trip to keep me away from 1000). 99% of the pilots here are in Unity- talk about working with a good pilot group. Everyone is great to work with! I have compared paychecks with my friend at AWAC- sure he will make more on 2nd year pay (until 9E gets a contract which is in "end game" negotiations) but when you calculate the costs of a crashpad, airport car, and TIME, he doesn't make more. Money is far from everything. If my wife had her way I would probably stay an FO until I could hold a good CA line just so I could be home (still going put my stuff in to upgrade in a couple months). My household does not have money issues. Between my wife's job and mine we do just fine but we could always use more. I took this job knowing what it paid and with the expectation of a contract and an upgrade vacancy within a couple- looks like that will work out with a little patience. For some people PNCL makes alot of sense, for others not so much. When I was looking at where to apply I had the times for everywhere but republic as I recall (I think they wanted 1500/300- I only had about 1000/250) so I made the choice that I figured would work best for me and my woman. Time will tell if my choice a couple years ago was the best choice.
