The training department has not been involved in any checklist, QRH, POH, or FOM changes for the past three or more years. A higher authority handles these now and the department only gets involved when training is required as a result of the change - thus the FIL. As I stated earlier, most of the TD was not happy either. I certainly agree a better approach would have been what you suggested.

Is there anyway this info could be on the release? Or make it a dispatcher function? They can be notified that we have a situation, we can work on getting the plane stable and ready to land and then get the numbers from them. Only scenario where time is critical is if we have a non-extinguishable fire and by that time I don't care what the distance required is, I'm landing. Anything else, we have some time.

It's a combination of ****ed off people that have been there for 1+ years and some new people that I've also heard say the stupidest things imaginable over the radio.

True...but i am pretty sure everyone has had something pretty dumb come out of their mouth at one point still don't see the point of getting angry about this. There's not much you can do on this forum to change what people say on the radio.

don't get me wrong. i got no beef with piedmont pilots. im sure youre all good pilots and good guys as well. its just when i have my very brief window of opprotunity along the korry 3 to call in range i get really tired of some toolbag from piedmont trying to be funny and talking like a jerk-ff on the radio trying to be funny and have the foreigner on the other end who is making 9.50 an hour working in ops try to figure out what they are saying. just talk normal. if they dont get it the first time. just talk normal the second time. dont keep up your lame schtick repeatedly over and over while other people are trying to use that same frequency. i get it. we have a boring job. we work for sh---y airlines. we do have somehwat difficult lives. sometimes humor is a way to cope. but when im trying to get my job done and there is somebody trying to be funny and making it 20 times
more difficult, i get a little irritated, especially when it happens so frequently and its the same group of people. its not just a wise comment over the radio. we all do that. but this is a frequent routine i here on 131.60 that gets so old. and its only piedmont. none of the other carriers.
oh...and i just got laid. had 2 miller lite drafts earlier as well.

oh...and the ties that bind us, are stronger than the little things that make me mad. so while i get cranky on here, id still buy yall beers. were in this together.

I'm assuming you work for chataqua, trans states, or air Wisconsin, there's tool bags all over the industry, getting on the piedmont forum bi?!$ing about it will not solve anything. The topic of this paticular thread is PDT news and rumors, and that's what I like to read about, not how some douche bag from another airline has a problem with our pilot group. If it really annoys you and effects your job then take it up with ur chief pilot

Who decided to change the formatting to the QRH index, and who physically made the changes to the master copy? Who is this "higher authority?" I hope you don't mean Andy. If you mean the FAA, I still don't agree that our company can't make slight alterations/additions in order for the end product to be practical.

From what I was told, all of the checklists and manuals fall under the control of SBY. As far as I know, Scott and Andy do the changes but certainly they are not the higher authority. I imagine they do as directed by their boss. I agree with your last sentence 100% though I'm not sure, other than the POI's signature, how much the FAA was involved.

I didn't know PDT had a QRH. Non-normal emergency checklist.
