It's my understanding that they would not have any protection, but I could easily be wrong on that (I've just never seen anything that says or implies otherwise).
I would hope that the union would have the decency to tell the probationary F/Os to go ahead and show up for work during a strike, since ALPA can't protect them and they wouldn't have anyone to fly with anyway. If ALPA directly instructs them to cross the line under those circumstances, I don't think there'd be any room to label them as "scabs."

I do not have any citable sources now (and don't have time to dig any up now), but I'm pretty sure that most return-to-work agreements include negotiated agreements to re-instate striking probationaries. I'm pretty sure the 500 UAL 'ers from 1985 were brought back. I think there was something about this in those ALPA "Flying the Line" books if you need some good bathroom reading material.
