This is probably stating the obvious, but Piedmont is effectively the pawn in the negotiations with Envoy.

AAG took away 145s from Envoy and gave them to Piedmont not out of the goodness of their hearts, but as a thinly veiled threat to Envoy.

If Envoy votes down the latest proposal, then they'll lose even more 145s and most likely negotiations with the Piedmont FAs and MX get fast tracked.

Better question is "why would anyone want fly for Piedmont? Their training dept. is known to be horrendously terrible. No standardization with sim instructors. Sim instructors that lack sim skills to demonstrate maneuvers. None of them use the syllabus they pass out in ground school, and if you mention the syllabus to a sim instructor, they make excuses why they don't use it. As far as PDT getting jets, just a recruiting tactic to get pilots to join a small meaningless regional airline. Also, the PDT domiciles are out stations requiring a two or three leg commute.

Did you recently been through training or something? You sounds like you have a story to tell.
You are totally correct about pdt's bases though. It sucks if you have to commute, but you already know that before u sign up, so what's your point? Pdt is bad? So are 95% of the regionals. But I am interested in your dealing of our training department though.

1. The training is not as bad as some would advertise. It is actually quite generous, giving 2-3 times the sims as some other regionals. My instructors followed the syllabus, and even broke lessons into 2 lessons for better understanding and practice.

2. I have 2 and 3 leg commuted for over 2 years. I have used my commuting clause once. Its all about boarding priority friend...its easier for us to commute than any of the contract carrier. My wife has a better priority non-reving than any pilot at AWAC, RAH, etc...but that is meaningless right? Why move, if you don't have to? Commuting is what you make of it, and the stigma of a 2 leg commute is way overrated in my opinion...if you do your homework on boarding priority...I did.
