It doesn't look like anybody wil get paid the 1st year rate for the Jets.
Seat bidding has to go through the seniority, and there's plenty of people hoping for some longer routes, the possibility of hub bases (unconfirmed).
2nd Year pay is similar on both, and the jet pay exceed dash pay on year 3, but you should already be in upgrade territory by then anyway.

Modern Slavery
The problem is that we complain and complain and complain but do nothing about the situation and yet we expect things to miraculously change, that's the definition of Insanity my friends. It's modern day slavery they are trying to make things as difficult as possible so that you either quit or go insane. This profession has been destroyed at the regional level. There is no adequate compensation which is ok as long as there is quality of life (multiple days off, commutable lines, productive trips). Now we gave in to more concessions and our quality of life is been taken away. Yet there's plenty of mediocre 2nd and 3rd class pilots getting hire by the regionals cause this companies need to fill the seats. Here's the F*&K part about this, the FAA implemented all this changes (1500hrs, 117 rules) all to help place experience and well rested pilots in the cockpit. I wonder what they'll do when a plane slam into the ground cause by pilot error. Always have a backup plan.

Wow, they're offering to pay up to $39,000 prior to starting in a class AT the airline. Imagine if they put that kind of money into first year pay. It AMAZES me how regionals keep finding new ways to put band aids on the real issue... To be honest though, for the right person, this could be an incredibly enticing deal, but by the time someone has 1200 hours, I'm sure they're already at the point where they're getting paid to fly rather than paying to fly needing the airline's money.

Wasting funds, if they merge the three owned regionals they would not need to offer this kind bull. This is so they can go to Congreve and change the rules in managements favor of hiring low time pilots who do not know better. Not that most of those with time know any better either. It is all a scam.

No they would not have to bypass on an upgrade, as they are still employed in a position that benefits the company's investment in them. The upgrade is very likely to come before 3 years. As of right now, this is for current employees only. I personally would like to see this program extended to prospective new hires...as long as the company doesn't lose sight of its financial obligation to its current pilots. See also Tamdar back pay, etc etc...
