Have you downloaded the ALPA app?

Sign in and go to MEC -> MEC DOCS -> PDT PILOT PAY GUIDE and download that PDF.

It has A LOT of good information that is often never presented to new hires to properly orient yourselves on the complexities of our pay system and the different times you may be obligated to submit a pay adjustment form.

I know there isn't a typical work week, but (assuming you live at your base) how often do you make it home at the end of a work day? Is 4 on 2 off a normal schedule or something similar? I'm coming from 135, where there aren't hard days off, so some kind of semblance of structure would be appreciated.

Each month you bid for your line (assuming you can hold one). Each line is a month long schedule where you see exactly what days you will work and which days you'll have off. The worst lines are generally 4 on 2 off with the better lines having more days off between trips. There are some lines for next month with up to 10 consecutive days off on them. Nice for having a vacation without having to use your actual accrued vacation time if you can hold those lines.

The secret as I've said on here a few times, if you don't want to work, is live in base and bid reserve. Admittedly, there is no reserve on the jet right now, but will be eventually.

I only worked 8 days in February and I only had I think 4 overnights. Half of that flying was just empty part 91 ferry flights. As for this month...I haven't even SEEN a Dash 8 yet this month.

Perfect, this is exactly what I was looking for. This would be a major change in being able to organize outside activities.

Thanks for the info!

So all those guys getting displaced out of philly this month. You think they're gonna stay on the Dash or are most of them just going to the jet?

Kinda interesting the emails we got today about the incentive program and the bid.
