If you were in the January class and waiting indefinitely, would you take the Dash? I'll be in the jet eventually, but I would rather start building some time and such.

Interesting about the dash flying. Wonder if it's really worth if for a Jan or Feb hire.

Yeah I'm on the dash and can't hold philly. Can't even hold a line. Couldn't even hold an upgrade last bid. Wonder if this announcement means more opportunities. It'll be nice if they have more spots available in Philly because the last dash class all went to Roanoke.

There are still a lot of December hires waiting for sims. Who knows how long it will take for a Jan or Feb hire to get back for ground/sims. I'm concerned about the Dash leaving Philly late next year and getting stuck in ROA or SBY.

Its a personal decision. If you want to fly the Dash it's a great opportunity especially with the incentive and extra bases. If the only reason is to fly a little sooner it won't be that big of a difference. I'm on the jet so I would talk to some Dash guys and get the scoop on the schedules, bases, training, etc.

I second this. If you're in the pipeline for the jet you'd be a fool to not stay on it. Especially if you want philly.
This program specifically mentions the summer. It might be well and good for those few months but what about after? Could you even hold philly? What about a line? Would you be happy in reserve in Roanoke?

Well as I understand it if you can at least hold PHL for even a month, then you are displaced to ROA, they have to give you TDY benefits. That including hotels (even on reserve) and 24/7 per diem. At that point I could care less if I was sitting reserve at ROA. I would be making an extra 1K a month plus a ton of per diem money to sit around. Also the Dash is a blast to fly,it really makes you a sharp pilot. That being said the question is IF you can hold a base other then ROA before that bases closes.

Hey

Sooooo. If I wanted to flow to AA would I want the absolute soonest class? Or wait for approx 50+ bodies to be in front of me.

That's a year of flow at current rates. If I could jump a class or two. I would be all over it regardless of airframe. Seniority rules. Play the long game in this biz.

Good luck
