The FO bonus is 20,000 over two years and Captain is only 7,500. In the case of an upgrade, would you get 10,000 your second year as an FO then 7,500 the next year when you upgrade?

Smart thinking! Unfortunately, the company knows our game too well. Upgrading FOs during an eligibility period will receive the greater of their remaining $20000 bonus or $7500, not to exceed a total of $7500.

So you lose out on "bonus" money by upgrading?
If you upgrade your second year you only get 7,500 or if you upgrade year 3 you don't get anything else because of the 10,000 given during the second year?

My understanding was the $7500 was only negotiated by PDT because the upgrade was so fast, the new captains would miss out on some of the FO retention bonus. This was to fill some of the gap. Or do PSA and envoy have this, too?

No wrong.. the 7500 was because we have a lot of senior captains that deserve the full 20k. They have carried this airline on their backs. The 7500 for caps was the only way the LOA would be signed and many of us still think it's unacceptable. Unfortunately we have a lot of new young people that don't think about the total pilot group.

Most of those are at psa and envoy.... I'm new here, but not new to the industry. I'm glad the group fought back and was able to include the entire seniority list, not just newbies. You are right, it still is not enough for the ones who have been here for decades and dealt with 10 year upgrades, furloughs and downgrades.

Unfortunately the other two wholly owned did not negotiate any bonus for their captain. Further they did not wait to agree at the same time which in turn weakened the position of the Piedmont MEC.

Are you saying that PSA Captains did not receive a $7,500 retention bonus?

That's incorrect - Envoy is giving their CAs $7500, as well. I can't speak on PSA.
