Yea thats pretty sad and I see it all the time. The gate agent asks the FA how many are on board and just writes that number on the load-sheet, "good-to-go, see ya later."

Tickets? Counting?? HA!

in the sh!t hole of the world, IAD, i had a passenger ask the gate agent if he was boarding the right airplane to Columbia SC. The gate agent, not having a good grasp of the english language, told the passenger he was going in the right direction. However, that direction was to my airplane going to Columbus OH. Of course the gate agent couldnt figure out what was going on until my FA asked if everyone on board was going to CMH and this guy stood up and said he was going to Columbia SC. By then the flight to Columbia had already pushed.

LOTS of people also end up in Fayetteville, AR instead of Fayetteville, NC too...

I was deadheading on a Horizon 700 to DEN and the lady sitting next to me expressed her concern about the small plane. She seemed to relax a bit after I explained that it was really no different than the larger jets. Though they are a little smaller the flew just as high and fast. She says well I tell you what really scares me is those little puddle jumpers, they just aren't safe at all. The ones without the overhead bins and FA's I ask. Well thats what I fly...

I fly the EMB135 alot.the other day we were in Newark getting ready to head to Raleigh. We were taking what seemed to be a group of old ladies back to NC. The first one who got on turns to me and says "Geez this thing is so small...what? do we have to sit up front with you and the captain?" I told her she was more than welcome. then hit her in the face with a can of coke.

another time we were sitting on a taxiway in montreal because JFK was closed!! surprise! must of been the storms in texas...anywho....we sat on the taxiway for like 2 hours and i had to pee so i went back to use the bathroom and on the way back this "laguna beach chick" was like "hey excuse me we need to leave because i have a connection to make..." i thought about having her come up front and personally asking clearance delivery for the release right then and there.

i also look like am like 12...so i often get the "are you old enough to fly?"

pax: are you really a pilot?
me: no ma'am i'm an armadillo

gee you don't read very well do you..... maybe thats why you are BENT over all the time.....

I reed reel good. gooder then you i bet Soooo... what you're saying is that you think you get paid a fair wage to fly that thing? that is even worse than complaining about NOT getting paid a fair wage to fly it. You should complain like the rest of your peers who "fly 70 seaters for 50 seat wages". They have a valid complaint.

I agree with you that passengers won't pay more for a ticket on a bigger/nicer plane. That was not the point of my reply.

I was poking fun of your original comment about how nobody complains about the size of your plane. I thought it was funny that you are so proud of your big shiny jet, yet you are barely getting by just like the rest of the regional pilots. It's all about the Benjamins baby! By the way, you fly a EMB170... not a 777. I have heard people call the A320 and the 737 a "puddle jumper", so rest assured that people complain about the 170.

I am sorry that I didn't make my point cut and dry. I assumed that since you are a pilot, you are at least somewhat intelligent, and you would get my point. With people like you out there, it is no wonder why this industry is going down the shi++er!

Maybe you have selective hearing when other people complain about the size of your plane... and other things you may have Keep living in denial.

Sure they will....They pay millions more to fly little ol' 8 seaters. Airlines chasing $99 super savers are going bankrupt, and companies chasing the high end pax are having record profits.

PS....I've heard people get on a 757 and call it a little plane. It's all relative, you can't stand up in an Escalade either.

I was waiting to get on an Eagle flight in Houston-Hobby once going to DFW. It was before I was hired at my airline so I was in plain clothes, and just chatting with another guy, who happen to live near me. He said flew down to Houston often, and had lots of miles and he liked taking Eagle and AA. Meanwhile a JetBlue E170 pulls into the gate next to us. Another guy talking to us, asks if the man ever rode on JetBlue or any carrier like that. He frowned and said he would never want to take a carrier like that, with their inexperienced pilots and all. This all while he's waiting to board a regional jet! (nothing against Eagle pilots)

So I'm sure he's not the only guy that thinks all DL and DL Connection are all DL pilots, and well Southwest, Airtran and JetBlue guys are the ones that "couldn't cut it" at the "majors."
