Good luck to all of you guys in the pool. And COME TO MEMPHIS if you have the ability to do it. (evil grin).
Seriously though, even with the announcement it's still going to be hard to get anything other than reserve in ATL indefinitely. If you wanna fly, make money, and have a line, go for the 200...IMHO.
Good luck and if any of ya'll needs interview tips/advice let me know!!!

...but some are respectable.. It just makes me sick to see that a 2nd year comair fo was practically making twice the amount of a 2nd year pcl fo a year ago... and even after BK pay cuts thrown down our throats our pay and work rules aren't great.. but pcl's are pathetic. I realize your guys contract was signed in 1999 and I'm all for raising the bar ,but com'on fellas.. whos going to be raising the bar during these times? I mean Delta already tried to can you once....
We've got a 99% strike vote... your work rules were pathetic before you went on strike also... so whats your point. and no your 2nd year FO's are not making 50 bucks an hour at comair your what 35ish??? far from double... and while I agree 2nd year FO pay should be 50 bucks an hour... again I say 16 airplanes is not breaking the bank at comair... man your reaching with this one...
Dude ive been flying in and out of the regionals for 10 years... its been the same since 98'
have you been at comair since 98?

"dude" u just don't get it... sub-par regionals get the flying.. while regionals that tried to raise the bar get the shaft..its how it has always been and it gets old. we might as well start a "mesa gets delta flying" thread as well bc this thread isn't too far off. oh, and before you say you have a 99% strike vote again- thats awesome and all but unfortunately PCL is in a really bad situation with the merger on the horizon to strike. I'm all for you guys... but lets put our chests down and be realistic.
O.. if you are going to come on here and bash ANYBODY you need to make sure you have facts lined up. I will never bash other carriers or pilots, but I WILL retort with the truth.

How is PNCL in a bad position? 10 year contracts with both DL and NWA (both contracts have merger clauses that keeps the contracts intact). The contracts are cost plus contracts so we are not "directly" influenced by oil prices. Our company runs very "lean" which keeps costs much lower than most regionals, yet our on time and completion (overall) lands us on the top end of the list compared to every current DCI and airlink operator. O, and we have a good chunk of cash in the bank. Do we need a pilot contract- YES. I hope this doesn't become a bicker thread that gets locked but PNCL is in a good position, its up to mgmt to make this position "prosper".

I believe he's saying we are in a bad position because if we strike, our contracts are voided...and as far as the "low ball" always getting new a/c and winning, mesa has had several carriers pull out of service with them including Delta and no one seems eager to give them more business. BTW, when pncl grew by leaps and bounds, their contract was about average...it has sunk as years have gone by.
Edit: more to say...
By us conducting a legal strike (if/when/ever) we don't automatically "void" the contract. I do not have the specifics but there is a length of time before we can lose the flying. I *think* its 14 days but I have not looked at the ASA in a while.
And Mesa... I will not bash the brothers and sisters at Mesa but the issues with mesa (or should be just say JO's stupidity) is the completions, cancellations, and performance. The pilots didn't cause it but turnover and staffing issues have been mentioned by mesa people repeatedly so I am but the echo.
A solid pilot contract here will change things at PNCL and will help raise the bar industry wide. It's not all about a payrate, but QOL, benefits, and morale will impact everyone in this industry. Its always the domino effect.
