Lookin' for an update on Great Lakes

My interview story is very similar, unfortunately. They were so rude, and the guy asking the tech questions didn't even look at me most of the time. I was answering a question, and he would be staring at the other table. Some of their questons were ludacris. The guy said "I just don't understand, you had an interview with another airline, and you went. Why are you even here, and why should we hire you when you want to fly for another airline?" He sounded seriously disturbed. I was seriously awe-struck, and replied that I had been applying to GLA for the past year, and that this is the soonest GLA would let me interview, and the other airline showed interest back in March, I was immediately asked for an interview, offered a class, and since they have ceased all their classes. They simply said "ok" and that was that. Other questions were as silly as the post up above. My other interviews were much more pleasant at other airlines. The HR lady wasn't a people-person either. I almost got the impression they didn't even want to get to know who I was, and that they were bothered that I even showed up. Horrible, horrible experience. This is just my opinion, but they failed to win me over.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who had this experience!!!! I was totally blown away after hearing what a great pilot group they have over there from a few people I know there!!!! I cannot believe I wasted a whole day going out there! I could have stayed home and gone to work, which would have been a much more enjoyable experience!!!

Sorry to hear about the bad experiences guys. Not being on the interview board, I'm frankly embarrassed about that. Not sure what's going on, but hopefully it changes quickly. I will have to say, Luv, if you'd answered the driving infraction problem like you said, I would have laughed my A$$ off, shook your hand and given you the job (my personal opinion). Keep your eyes on the horizon. When a door closes, another one always opens.

Thanks for the encouragement. Who knows, maybe they just had a bad day--it was a Friday. I have some good friends at GLA, so nothing against you pilots that work at GLA. If we had someone with a sense of humor like you interviewing us, things would have looked brighter.

About 2 years ago I tried for a job at GLA, was even offered an interview. I had a phone interview, which was a joke, then offered the real interview. I must say that the whole process was a joke. Looking back now I am glad I did not jump at the first "airline" that would hire me, first year pay across the board sucks, but Gla is plain out sh!%%!! Trust me I am not much better of now at the airline I am at, Comair, but we all deserve a hell of a lot better than GLA!
