Started class the beginning of this week with a class of 15 other CRJ 900 FOs. We were told day one by an HR rep and the head of pilot recruiting that at a rescent management meeting the pres of Mesaba said they were to expect a minimum of 17 more CRJ 900s, most of which will be based in DTW. That may answer a lot of questions as to all the hiring that's going on. He also said there are serious talks about exercising options on the additional 36 CR9s that are on the table. How officially official this is I don't know. Nevertheless, we were told day one that's why we're here.

Freedom's 900's are not tied up in court, only the ERJ's. Pinnacle has already started operating a couple of them. JO couldn't really contest the contract since Delta owned the aircraft.

Selvaggio, Soaper Provide Fleet, Staffing Update
President John Selvaggio provided the Comair team with an update on our fleet and staffing for 2008 and into early 2009.
"Most recently, Delta has notified us that they have re-assigned the 14th CRJ 900 originally awarded to Comair in April 2007," according to the memo. "You will recall that we have already taken delivery of the first 13 aircraft... Delta has said the plane will be assigned to Mesaba next year."
The memo was also in Comair pilot's mailboxes this morning, along with a letter announcing 120 additional pilot furloughs and downgrades beginning in 2009.
Comair pilots with less than 3 years seniority are looking at furlough, and depending on how the numbers boil out, Captains hired after July 1999 are looking at downgrades or at best being bumped to JFK reserves.
I don't think this is about just one Comair 900 going to XJ.

According to the US courts system, MAG has two cases against Delta, one against Mokulelee(sp) and Mokulelee(sp) has one against MAG, and there's several that ALPA has against MAG. The two against Delta are for the ERJ contract and the one for Delta to return their engines(which they're holding due to non payment from MAG). Delta's appeal of the injunction has a court date of January 26th. I'm sure he could still file if he wants to, but I think he's got his plate of litigation is pretty full.

Hmmm... I guess it is rather hard to fight for something that isn't yours right? Then I wonder what the heck DL and Mesaba are waiting for in making a public announcement. We're also forgetting one huge elephant in the room: SCOPE. How is it even possible for the additional 8 to be operated? We're already over the JPWA scope for 76 seat a/c when you include all the orders. Something has got to give and it's obvious we don't know the full story.
