From a Solid Source: Mesaba is being awared 15 CRJ-900s

It's even better when XJ TRUTHS are brought down to earth as if a press release was intended SPECIFICALLY to persuade fellow pilots at other airlines to not harbor ill will. Try to find a way to be happy that, at LEAST, there are some positives in our sector of the industry and this news does bring options to those that want to jump or get a job back.
The presser you are waiting to "see to believe" is for INVESTORS and MEDIA. Senior management of every entity (MX, INFlight,CP's) are openly talking about it now that Mesaba can take the flying. I suppose EVERYONE is in on a big joke for those that read APC forums. Jeez!
It doesn't take any effort to be angry but it takes a lot to be happy. If you're just anti-XJ for whatever reason, check yourself. There will be a time again in the future to get our nuts in the vice without optimism too.

no one has ill will towards the mesaba guys. but it gets old when every rumor coming out at mesaba is good for them and bad for everyone else, even if it is as you say TRUE. and what people are mostly bugged about is the snotty attitude a lot of mesaba guys have. ESPECIALLY when i am in the memphis airport and i see those silly mesaba fo's that wear their eppaulets upside down to show everyone they fly the 900! i guess they want their fellow saab pilots to know they are 1 step up from them. hahahaha, what a freaking joke.

I'm on the 900 and have NEVER seen an FO do that nor met one that would WANT to do that. I'm not going to come out and say it's not true, however there are WAY to many people that would crack that person / people back to reality if this were the case.

oh its true. i was standing in line at popeys with a mesaba fo and i saw it. i told him as a courtesy that he had put his eppaulets on upside down. he then informed that he ment to do it. thought it was a little weird till a buddy of mine told me that the 900 fo's were doing it to distinguish themselves.

i really dont have ill will towards the mesaba pilot group as a whole. i was simply refering to a certain group of people who would actually wear their eppaulets upside down to show they flew the jet instead of the prop. i know i came to pinnacle during the good swing. i was hired with a seniority of 1200 and now sit at a little below 600. there are 1300 pilots on the seniority list. so in about 3 years i am more than half way up the seniority list. pretty good. and you are right, i am glad mesaba gets the chance to grow. i was here at pinnacle when all the things were going down at mesaba. i was on the deadheads with a lot of disgruntled mesaba employees who found out they were being furloughed for the second time. several of my good friends here at pinnacle used to fly at mesaba. they were furloughed and looking for jobs and pinnacle hired them. things are going to be good at mesaba for a couple years, and things here at pinnacle will pretty much stay the same. doesn't bother me a bit. i have several things to look forward to. first i still have a job, the markets always change, and there will be movement once again in the future.

I hope that person was trying to be funny at the expense of their embarrasment because, believe you me, I don't know anyone that would put up with or accept that mindset. If they weren't being funny, rest assured that this was an isolated incident that will be "adjusted" properly in an expidited fashion.
Actually the -900 guy Airsupport is talking about is dead serious. I was at Lenny's and he was behind me. When I politely informed him his epaulets were backwards (thought he might have been too fatigued to notice), he looked me dead in the eye, rolled his eyes at my ignorance, and said, "uhhh because I'm on the -900". I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard. I asked if I could buy his lunch because I've never had the honor of meeting a real-life jet pilot.
